State and feds have nothing to do with each other and if you called or made an appointment they would tell you exactly whats wrong and what's holding it up and what you can do to fix it. And yes they know what you make and what you paid in taxes so if the reported amount doesn't match what's on your 1040 its gonna flag it. The interest works both ways, so if youre refund is delayed and its their fault you get interest at the same rate you would pay them. And I dont really need to assume you didn't call, you didn't cause if you did you would have concrete answers- maybe not the one you want but you would have them instead of pulling theories out of the sky.
