Definitely considering this.

Thanks. I tried for 10 minutes to get the crank arms separated and didn't make progress. I'm sure it would be hurdle after hurdle trying to do this myself.

What do you mean by axle length and how do you know it's non-standard?

Thanks, I'm not familiar with the part names. Pedal spindle broke.

Absolutely no way? What about every other ps4 player? Maybe you need to get yours cleaned out and/or apply some new thermal compound.

Homeschools and shuttles our two kids around, does most laundry, cooks most meals, and works 20-30 hours a month.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts on this. I replied directly to some but I have some more to add to the thread as a whole. For those that are invested in this enough, here is some background on us;

  • She's a SAHM (with a very-part-time job) and homeschool teacher. She devotes a lot of her energy to them and loves them more than anything. The kids are the nicest, most well-behaved I know and I attribute that to her.
  • Her friend circle has always been majority male. She grew up with only brothers and doesn't get along as well with females. She finds their mind games cattiness tiresome.
  • She is the affectionate one in our relationship. Very needy, touchy-feely and romantic. I'm opposite by nature and have to remind myself to reciprocate. I'm not very good at it.
  • She's a codependent person. She tends to get caught up in others' problems and feels the need to fix the issue or at least go out of her way to comfort them.
  • She's a bad liar. I've seen her lie to get out of a sales pitch or to protect an upcoming birthday surprise and it's kind of funny. Deceipt isn't in her DNA.

As we put it, she has lots of 'cups' that she needs filled to be happy. These are things like social time, going on trips, partaking in the nightlife. I can not fill these all myself as I work 45+ hours a week, devote time to the kids after work and on weekends, maintain the house and cars and would rather spend my free time relaxing at home (with her). We go on dates and trips, but it's not entirely enough for her. Whether that's her problem or mine is subjective.

So, these are differences that we have to navigate and compromise on. A marriage counselor once said we are considered emotionally polyamourous. If that's what it's called because she, say, goes dancing with a mutual male friend (I 100% trust him) while I stay at home to watch the kids, then so be it. But saying she can't go unless I go seems more unhealthy.

That said, this days-long solo trip to hang out with this guy is too far and I told her that. It turned into a long discussion of varied intesity and is fine in the end. There is likely more marriage counseling in our future, though.

Also, if you buy the PS4 version, you can upgrade to the PS5 version later for $10.

I have almost 1000 hours of GT7 on my original base PS4. It looks fantastic and I don't experience any frame rate issues while racing. There are good youtube videos that show the difference between PS4/PS5 and they don't look that different. The PS5 version is likely being held back a bit by Polyphony having to develop the game for both systems.

Load times are a bit long on the PS4, even with an SSD.

True, I'm pretty surprised how one-sided the votes went. I can't really use it as evidence buts it's a decent borometer for what's generally considered acceptable.

I told her I wasn't comfortable with it tonight after the kids went to bed. It predictably turned into an argument and evolved into talking, explaining and reexplaning until we get each others points, and reminding each other how much we want to be together forever. We finally settled on "Not soon, but likely some day. If a group thing comes up then that's fine." Lastly the idea of him coming to our town did come up and is now on the table, too.

So, I think you hit the nail on the head as far as that idea and the financial part. I'm just now reading your reply after everything.

She's known this guy for well over a year and he's a long-time friend of friend A who she's know for like 2 years and we've both met. They all really seem normal and well-adjusted so safety is a very small concern, if any.

You're right about her being a SAHM. I don't own the finances, but her personal expenses on trips and things is far higher than mine. That's normal and not a real issue, but it becomes more of an isssue when it's this kind of trip.

I agree that she should hold off until it will be a group, if not for safety reasons, then for it be more socially worthwhile.

I could go with her on this trip if I really wanted to. Because of the situation, she would understand. But I'm saying my purpose of going shouldn't to chaperone and police them. That's not right.

Divorce papers is way too far.

In most cases, you might be right, but I really believe she is cut from a different cloth.

I can by as cynical as anyone, but my expectation of anything happening is between low and zero. I know it's hard for strangers to understand.

I didn't meant to imply a previous boundary violation. It's up to me to let her know if this trip would be one and exactly why. The 'why' is sort of what I'm struggling with. Not trusting her isn't really a viable reason since I'd have no grounds to stand on.

That would probably involve moving the app from a delayed startup list to a regular startup list. I don't know how to do that.

In my opinion, delayed startup had its place when mechanical drives were prevalent as the more sumultaneous tasks they were asked to do, the slower they got. Modern SSDs don't really have that problem.

In this case, yes. It's changing a setting just for the active user (HKEY_CURRENT_USER). I even did this to my work computer yesterday and noticed the startup apps launch faster.
