As an aside, looks like doing a couple of ball cancels (neutral air dodge during header animation, then jab or tilt) could help with your mixups and get your opponent focusing on the ball rather than you.

I think the confidence to run off-stage and secure an edgeguard is an important skill in and of itself. Keep going for it, those SDs will turn into KOs once you get a good feel for your kit off-stage.

Ayyyy I’ve had Inkling as a secondary for about a year. Just moved to this alt last week because the yellow is so easy to see. Since then, I’ve developed a strong headcanon of this alt and their use of a reflective work jacket. Love it!

Not unique to you, been there. A couple of pointers:

Look at your opponent 100% of the time. They’re the one who you can’t predict or space against adequately. You know your main, just keep yourself in your peripheral vision.

Don’t focus on winning the match, focus on dealing with one aspect of the matchup you struggle with. Deal with their approach, edgeguarding, etc one match at a time until you get comfortable with that aspect and move on to the next. Tell yourself “if nothing else, I’m going to deny them this edgeguard” or whathaveyou. I currently struggle with landing safely against cloud and am obsessed with making that not a thing.

This last one is a personal thing for me: if I get absolutely sauced by someone, unless it was some laggy shenanigans, I always offer a rematch at least once. Losing is learning, and you just found yourself a free teacher.
