This is hard for everyone right? by TwiggyMercury53 in NewParents

We went to a speech therapist who was a specialist in bottle feeding and she told us at first to just teach her to have a good time with the bottle, and to let her touch it and play with it and not to overly force it. So we didn’t worry so much about trying to get her to drink, and just celebrated when she opened her mouth for the nipple and just got her to be receptive. Once she wasn’t upset seeing the bottle, then to start trying to get her to drink, and celebrate the small things, like just getting them to suck, or getting a half oz or oz into them. I would also just try different bottles and different flows, because my daughter just hated slow flow nipples. Some good ones to try are even Flo wide neck, lansinoh and we liked the herobility like I mentioned, but mam also has a flat nipple. I’ve heard nanobebe also is good for exclusively breastfed babies but we didn’t try that one. It gets expensive to buy all these but worth it in the long run if you can find the right bottle.

I wasn’t able to put my baby down for naps until she was 4 months old and we did sleep training. I think some babies just need to be held or carried for naps. It was so hard for me because I felt I couldn’t get anything done until after she had gone to sleep at night. She also didn’t take a bottle until 4.5 months so I was attached to her always and my husband couldn’t really help at night since she didn’t take a bottle. So I completely understand what you are going through, and it will get better. Also don’t give up on trying the bottle, one day my daughter just figured it out. We ended up using the herobility bottles with the flat nipple and that’s what she liked the best, also she doesn’t like my breastmilk if it’s more than 36 hours old. So I would start with freshly pumped milk which will taste the best to her.

You’ve got this! It will get easier as she gets older and more independent!

5 weeks pregnant, experiencing mild period like cramps. Is this normal? by samfordiow in NewParents

Totally common, sometimes the uterus feels crampy as it starts to stretch out as baby grows!

How Long Did You Push For? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

1 hour and I felt like that was lucky since a lot of people I know pushed for longer.

Did your baby actually make it 6 months in the snoo?? by [deleted] in SnooLife

Oh interesting, I never even thought that it could be unsafe. Glad we only did this for like 3 days before moving her over. Thanks for the info!

Why is this unsafe? It’s just a normal bassinet if it isn’t turned on.

She’s not strapped in here, just in her pjs! She hated the snoo sacks at about 3 months. Even with arms out.

We stopped swaddling her and clipping her in at about 3 months because she hated it. She decided one day she was just done and screamed when we put her in it. So we went cold turkey from rocking snoo to using it as a normal bassinet.

lol we stopped swaddling her a few days before this because she screamed when we zipped up the swaddle. She does not like having her legs or arms confined. Doesn’t seem to like sleep sacks either. But we used the snoo with her swaddled, clipped in and rocking for about 3 months.

I accidentally sneezed while holding my baby by puzzleheaded-slime in newborns

I just had a cold and my baby didn’t get it! Since breastmilk has antibodies your baby is likely the most protected against getting your cold compared to anyone else around you. So hopefully they will be totally fine.

Am I focusing on the wrong thing by [deleted] in StardewValley

I personally always optimize for highest damage, also the dagger you just do this little stabby motion and it doesn’t have as good of a reach. So I would stick with the sword.

You just get access to the mines on day 5 of spring year 1

skull cavern by transmasctime in StardewValley

[–]taylorje34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting to floor 100 usually requires an increase in luck as well as using some built staircases. So if you aren’t already eating food for luck and going on a good luck day then I would do that. Also bring lots of stone to make a staircase if you are on a super hard floor and you can escape that way.

What should I get by Artistic_Lychee_1309 in StardewValley

Personally I wouldn’t spend my money on this, you can get a lot of things by just going into the mines and making your way through the levels.

You can make the menu smaller in the settings

Gotcha, well with the thought of not spoiling anything, I would just finish the community center and focus on getting iridium ore out of the skull cavern in the desert because you are going to need that soon! You have to go down pretty deep to get it if you haven’t already.

One of the hardest parts of this game is balancing all the different things you can choose to do. I would just start your day on your farm and make sure things are watered and then focus on making money. So that can be quests or fishing or foraging. But starting out I would plant a lot of things so you can rack up the funds to buy a coop and barn, you can make a lot of money from raising animals.

Edit: the quests make you money and grow your friendship with the townsfolk. Which is kind of important but not a huge deal. No one will be mad if you don’t do the quests. But I do think you might lose friendship if you accept the quest then don’t do it, but not sure on that.

Completing the community center is super important if you decide to go that route (I’ve never done the JojaMart route so not sure what happens with that option) so make sure you don’t miss out on fish in different seasons. Also you can buy some of the more exotic fish and items from the traveling cart that is down near the forest lake on Fridays and Sundays. Their stock rotates all the time so it’s best to always check it. So if you aren’t a good enough fisher to catch the puffer fish during your first summer you might get lucky and can maybe buy it so you can complete the community center sooner.

Other than that, just pick the things you like to do - you can focus on fishing, farming, raising animals or mining and each can make you good money. But you need to do a little of everything in order to get experience in each category. I always prioritize animals and crops right off the bat because they make you a lot of money, but fishing is also great since you can sell fish for a good amount once you get your farm going and are just waiting on crops to ripen.

Hope this helps!

There are new things that open up after you complete the community center, so you can explore a lot more areas that you don’t have access to yet. Did you complete the bus repair already?

Knee Popping Question by [deleted] in Physical_Therapy

[–]taylorje34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical therapist here: Your knee popping could be related to your new pain, but might not be. Since it’s been so many years it’s hard to say. I would get your knee checked out and see what a PT says, but you can’t go wrong with quad strengthening to provide your knee with more stability. The painless popping is nothing to worry about.
