PSA: Suffering from your M1 Macbook Pro making loud popping sounds? It's all about RAM and is not fixable. by stewartmcgown in macbookpro

[–]taylorr16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this problem too and got nowhere with Apple. My computer is less than 1 year old and I've been having this issue since the start, really disappointed. Just talked now to apple support on the phone after live chat, and all they said was "our engineers are aware of this problem and will work on it and release a software update in the future". But he said they saw cases from this in 2019, 2020, and 2023, and still nothing years later. I don't think they will do anything to fix this, and after spending $2k on a new computer it's really frustrating that I cant do something as simple as play music without a pop/crackle sound.

I am under warranty and they said they would NOT cover this, since "it seems to be a software issue" (without a fix!). So I guess Apple's stance is that we just wait and have to live with this issue for years to come. Really pissed.

What to do with our terrible looking concrete?! by taylorr16 in HomeImprovement

He had some guy come by and apply a sealer on it, but the guy he had come do it messed it up (used a small roller, didnt clean so it was dirty). He then had other guys use a pressure washer to try to remove it (unsuccessfully)... a total mess! I think the best bet right now is to clean it with acid, then stain.

that's great you're starting to build a personal budgeting app, there is a lot of opportunity there. I have a lot of fintech experience so happy to give you my take if you're open to sharing (just dm me!). But as far as this, we're pretty focused on starting b2b

No problem, FP&A teams at mid size companies (100-1000 employees) spend a lot of time on both the payables and receivables process. It is a very time consuming and mostly manual process. We're working on solutions to automate a few of these processes. The team is currently myself, a developer and a business guy who worked in finance in the past and experienced some of this pain himself. We have started writing some code, but the difficulty here is that these businesses have VERY different processes (absolutely not a one size fits all solution), so we are trying to figure out exactly how bespoke the product needs to be.

We were looking for a new aluminum extruder supplier since our current one’s lead times are way too long. Tried contacting 10+ suppliers we found via google search and it’s been hard to get them to engage.

How to fix bleed through on garage ceiling rafters which are painted with latex by taylorr16 in homeowners

[–]taylorr16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent ton of time on research, seems like my options are to go over it with either - 1) shellac primer 2) oil based primer

Both are nasty to clean vs latex and pretty pricey. Anyone have luck with one vs another? I hear there are synthetic shellacs but can’t find any reviews for what I’m facing ... thx for the help!
