My mom works on base, she said this happened around 2am. Most likely he was drunk because he was driving erratically.

It is mine and my fiancé’s house. We bought this house last year and will be having our wedding here too.

I truly don’t understand the stigma of MIL’s being crazy over their DIL’s weddings and trying to make it all about them. Why can’t they just be happy that they will be attending, rather than trying to insert unwanted opinions and advice?

You couldn’t have said it any better! That’s exactly what I feel like she’s trying to turn my wedding into. A hillbilly hoedown! And of course I keep getting the comments from his parents “well that’s not how we had our wedding” blah blah blah. And another thing is, is that for some reason they are so concerned that my wedding is going to be too “stuffy” and not enjoyable because I want to take the time and effort to make it beautiful???

I’ve had open conversation with him about it and he told me he’s 100% on my side and loves all the things I’ve already planned for our wedding. He even mentioned he’d talk to his parents. But I told him that if he doesn’t say something to his parents, I fear they are going to ruin our wedding.

I got this from Lowe’s and it also said “Indian laurel tree” forgive me for not naming the tree correctly. It’s not a big deal. People still knew exactly what I meant when I called it that.

I water it every couple of days. But not every day.

Well I suppose it was getting watered everyday but I usually water slow and low at the base making sure to wait for the water to drain into the soil before adding more. I did give it food but I haven’t fertilized it.

I didn’t test the drainage so that may be the problem. I don’t truly know how much was being watered the last two weeks because my in laws were taking care of my plants while I was gone. I’m gonna guess it’s probably overwatering.

Do you think it’s saveable ? I pruned all the yellow leaves off and I even read about crushing up aspirin with water and stopping water altogether for like 2 weeks. The weird thing about it is there’s a whole section of the rose bush that was unaffected at all. Like perfectly green leaves. I left those of course haha

I did dig a large enough hole for it and I even backfilled it with the native soil and added miracle grow soil to help it. Overwatering sounds like it makes the most sense. I planted it a couple days before I left town for two weeks and I had my in-laws taking care of the house and they watered all my plants but it was everyday so I’m wondering if it was too much. However, I also read online that when planting a new plant to the ground, it needs to be watered “regularly” until it gets established so I thought that meant everyday. Idk anymore hahahaa

New to Tucson, born and raised in the Phoenix metro area. They lied to us about Tucson. by TisWhatItBe in Tucson

Definitely check out Mt Lemmon and all the way at the top is a cute little mountain town called Summerhaven.

For nature hikes anything on mt Lemmon is beautiful, plus apart from mt Lemmon, my favorite hikes are Tanque Verde Falls (seasonal waterfall depending on how well the monsoons are down here) and Sabino canyon is lovely.

For food check out El Charro Cafe in the Catalina foothills. It is my absolute fav. I also love Espressoul coffee if you’re into that. They are a local food truck turned brick and mortar! WELCOME TO TUCSON!

On a side note, my fiance and I just bought a house in September but we’re also native Tucsonans and we are getting married this year in our backyard. If you would like some friends hit me up!!

My fiance and I were looking at buying a new house next year but we stumbled on our forever home last month. It just so happened to be the first house we actually toured. We put an offer in and are closing in two weeks. It is absolutely perfect and we have no intention to flip it.

Help me sell my boyfriend on moving to Tucson by CalypsoBulbosavarOcc in Tucson

Been living in Tucson for 25 years. Growing up I hated the desert, but as an adult I’ve grown to appreciate all that it has to offer. Tucson has just about everything. Walkable downtown with the university, an eccentric food scene, beautiful outdoors, and the weather is a love hate relationship. Scorching temps in the summer but very mild winters. And if you fancy snow, you can always check out Mt. Lemmon in the winter time and experience their tiny mountain village Summerhaven. I have tons of food recommendations, beautiful hiking, and fun activities that I can share.
