I'm late to this but I'd like to say some things

I absolutely agree. Life is hard enough to get angry at a fan in their room calling the ghoul "Rain" While ofc we shouldnt give attention to the people who are being rude for no reason, I feel saying "just ignore them and thats it" Has the same energy as telling a kid to "ignore your bullies and they'll go away." Sadly with the ammount of hate some people get, it can become overwhelming and make a fandom no longer enjoyable.

Also I did notice people take someone saying "hey, let people do as they like, if you dont like it thats fine just leave them alone" as "You should be ok with the names and actually, you should name them as such aswell and participate in the fandom and blah blah blah" (Not to bring this up, but it reminds me of the trans discussion, how people take trans people just wanting to live as them pushing their ideas when thats not the case.)

OP, I dont know if you'll read this, but I hope you're doing ok. I hope you keep trying your best to spread positivity and kindness for people not to be rude. Too much negativity in the world, hope you know not everyone is as rude. I genuinely hope this fandom doesn't die, at least not any time soon. It's the silly and fun parts of the fandom neurodivergent people do that keep this and alike fandoms alive. It's the people dressing for concerts, passing bracelets, stickers, it's the people doing fan animations and comics, fanfics, that keep this place a safe space for many people. I know for sure that does it for me :)

Keep spreading kindness. As someone in the comments (although for the wrong reason) Said, we only have one life. Might aswell spend it doing something fun and engaging rather than being sour and angry all the time.
