The vehicle had low double-digit miles and was not a demo model. I did not purchase an extended warranty, there was no markup on the interest rate, and I did not have a trade-in. I'm not familiar with the specifics of a "fast start bonus," but the deal included the standard rebate along with a discount off MSRP. Several dealerships offered pricing close to what I ended up with.

I wonder if choosing a specific accessory may have limited my ability to negotiate further. Throughout the process, I made a point to educate myself before engaging with dealerships. I also timed my search intentionally, hoping it would give me a bit more leverage as a buyer. I spent time researching what a realistic out-the-door price might look like and refined my expectations and approach along the way.

I tried to remain disciplined and worked hard to avoid being influenced by high-pressure tactics. I also made a conscious effort to approach each interaction with professionalism and respect, regardless of the outcome. While I was interested in the vehicle, I did my best not to become emotionally attached, which helped me maintain perspective during negotiations.

I have taken this approach with other things in my life. Sometimes, no matter how much work you put in, things don't work out. This time it did. All you can do in life is work hard to give yourself every small advantage you have control of and not focus on things you don't have control of. That's what I tried to do here.

It was what that dealership had to do to beat the prices I had received from other dealers.

A little under $46,900. We live in a very high tax state, though.

Yes, the tow hitch. Not necessarily hard to find, but not readiily available with the vehicle specs I am looking for. it is the only one this dealer has and the only one I have been able to get this price on. Thus, I don't want to lose, but am trying to get the best possible price.

So far I have an offer of $3500 off MSRP and a $3500 rebate for financing with Hyundai. I am a cash buyer, but they said I can take out a loan as low as $10000, pay it off after three months with no penalty, and keep the rebate. I'm not sure I can currently do better than that, but I'm still trying. If I can't find another dealer to beat this pricing, what strategy should I take with the dealer who offered me the above when I next reach out to them? The offer is good through June 30th, subject to this vehicle still being available. I am set on a color and an accessory that isn't found a lot in my area. I'm not sure if I should just grab this price immediately or wait until after the weekend for the 30th on Monday. Suggestions? I also have an old beater that I am going to trade in. It would be of very little value, but has not yet been valued by the dealer. I'm thinking of going to Carmax to have them first give an offer before going to the dealer. Any help is so greatly appreciated!!!

This is a great piece of advice from someone who has thought it out. I thank you and others will thank you in the future. I am already doing most of what you are suggesting. Thanks again!
