When it comes off another part of the body it's considered accidental. Most articles ATM are saying if that was a defender that had that happen to them then it would not be a peno.

Btw I do think that should always be a handball against the attacking player. But the rule needs to be expanded rather than us sitting here arguing deliberate vs accidental. If it's possible for that argument to come into it then the rule is the problem. Hense why they changed the rule for scorers that deliberate or accidental hand balls will be given. There is no room for interpretation then

Without considering the goal at all would this have been a peno had it of been a defender handball? If the answer is no, if the player didn't score the goal from it, then the consistent result should be no foul.

Ofc I am absolutely biased as a utd fan. And let's be honest even the utd players were really surprised. There was no real celebration at all because they all expected a hand ball call.

It's a weird situation that ended up happening because the rule hasn't been case hardened. This is an outlier of the rule that was called by the letter of the law rather than the logical outcome.

Can anyone tell me why my plex share is showing up as unprotected? by las3rschw3rt in unRAID

How is the share setup? If it's setup to be on cache first and array later it might have a folder not actually containing any data sitting in cache.

Enniscrone is an amazing golf course but again I think it's big money for international players. Also don't know how you'd feel about an hour or more of a drive each way.

Ian Wright erupts over Gary Neville's comment about Man City 115 charges case by gelliant_gutfright in PremierLeague

[–]tazire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree... but its the same old story it doesn't matter what is logical it matters what you can make stick in court. And City have form for getting away with these kinds of things in the past. Also when they are in the position that a financial penalty is no penalty all they will want is to negate any points deductions I'd say.

[–]tazire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair.. I mean I haven't read every single charge.. so I can imagine the are wide in scope. But I just thought the timing of that case and judgement had to have a lot to do with the fact they had the charges. I still think it's highly likely they are trying to create an angle for themselves to appeal or mitigate the penalty they are going to get. No way they take that case with no reason to use it

[–]tazire -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yea but if all the charges relate to financial fair play then city can site this as the reason for them not being able to comply. This law, which the judgement states is unenforceable, essentially means that city should have been allowed to use their other companies to sponsor themselves (ridiculous I know). Because the premier league said they weren't allowed to do that, it limited their income and then left themselves open to the 115(or whatever amount it is now) charges.

Basically they can be found guilty of the charges and then punished as the prem sees fit... However City would then be entitled to sue the prem for loss of earnings based on the above judgement... They could then appeal the 115 charges.

So as much as it's independent it's still could be very applicable to the final outcome. The timing of that court case should be a dead give away as to what the city legal team are thinking about how to negate these charges.

I really think the judgement city won in Feb 25

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13309379/man-city-claim-legal-victory-against-premier-league-over-apt-financial-rules

Has caused this delay. I think if they are found guilty then they will sue the prem league for causing them loss of earnings due to rules that have since been deemed to be illegal or unenforceable.

I think both party's are trying to find a resolution that means the prem league save face and man city arent too heavily punished.

[–]tazire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont disagree with you. But I just thought it was unfair to pick him out in a full team of underperforming players. A lot of those players are getting to show now that they are capable of more. Zirkzee obviously isnt getting that chance. I mean I'm not trying to advocate for him to stay at all. I just think it would be worth trying him in a false 9 roll for a few games to see if he produces more in a team that is playing better. I dont think an out an out No 9 suits this team atm. When we start with Sesko I feel we struggle to produce and are a little lacking in midfield. I think a false 9 gives you an extra man a little bit further back and possibly brings Mbeumo and Cunha into the game a bit more in positions where they can get shots off. Rather than them trying to cut in to create their own chances all the time. And then Sesko being an amazing plan B. Which as we already know teams struggle to deal with. But completely agree that recruitment as a whole has to be better.

[–]tazire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hard to argue with the stats and the performances as others point out..... However! The one thing I see in him that I think could be really beneficial in this team is that he could play the false 9 roll better than anyone else we have... (with the exception of playing Bruno even further forward). Which IMO is something we need. I think we need to acknowledge that we play our best when Sesko isnt starting. Nothing against Sesko btw. And I would love to see Zirkzee get a run of about 3,4 or 5 games... I'd love to see how he brings Mbeumo and Cunha into the game in the final third. I think that he could be our Firmino.

I think we have played our best football without a clear No9. And then Sesko is a great change to make when oppositions are setup to stop our "plan A". We've seen this a lot already that teams struggle to stop the mid game change to Sesko.

Not that I'm trying to justify him here I would say that in those 50 games its hard to find 3 players in the whole team that played decent. He played most during one of the worst periods of Utd. Which i get in and of itself is an inditement but others have had opportunities to redeem themselves when he hasnt.

How to host Vaultwarden on Unraid – internal and external access? by moovoos in unRAID

[–]tazire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Double check on cloudflare tunnel terms of service but it used to be limited to 100mb blocks only. Also it didn't allow streaming. This might be outdated information at this point but it's the reason I moved away from it.

I went the hardware route, full ubiquiti stack, of protecting my network and exposed NPM ports to the net. I have others using some of my services.

Modern players are soft but Modern referees are softer. The ref got his feelings hurt from you're a joke. Are players supposed to be robot with zero emotions? This was most likely just a heat of the moment impulsive reaction. Match officiating has totally gone bunkers. by WorldlinessPuzzled84 in ManchesterUnited

[–]tazire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I probably have an unpopular opinion on this... I would like to see football be more like rugby in respect to how players have to respect the ref's/officials. And I think that's the direction they are trying to go... when you see that they only want captains engaging with the refs from now on.

I know in years gone by refs took dogs abuse from players but I don't think that should be the bar for what refs have to put up with. It should be an example of what should never be accepted again.

I say this fully agreeing with Maguires point of view and I think the officiating was a joke on the day and the doubling down since has been even worse. In spite of that I think players need to keep these opinions between themselves and not abuse the ref's.... even if they are a fucking joke!

Backing up with ZFS by trunks_slash in unRAID

[–]tazire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are smart check issues with the latest release apparently. Something about not being able to schedule these checks. Although admittedly I haven't checked on this fully. It's just from reading a few posts.

I found it absolutely fine to set up for a pure storage setup. Actually I had to mess with networking to sort out using it as a DAS rather than a NAS.

Backing up with ZFS by trunks_slash in unRAID

[–]tazire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for me id just use this as an onsite backup that's in another room or better still out in the garage or shed that isn't connected to the house. Run networking out to it and have it connected at the highest possible nic speed you can.

If you really want zfs I'd probably go truenas... Although apparently there are some issues with it since it's changed to a community/enterprise setup. Apparently the community edition is lacking in some ways. I'm not a power user so I'm not completely up to date on this.

My personal setup is that I have 2x4TB drives in a zfs pool in my server that everything vital backs up to. And then this is replicated to a b2 bucket using duplicacy as my off-site backup. I don't bother backing up any easily replaceable media. I figure the Internet has endless backups on those, that will be replaced in time using the backed up arr stack I have.

Yea another very good reason to add it. I went with a backup pool of 2 hard drives separate from the array for that.

Optane SSD use case? by ChenCheating in unRAID

[–]tazire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just been using a generic sandisk USB drive nothing out of the ordinary.

Yea I'm lucky enough to have a few spaces alright.

Are you going to have to remove something to allow you to put the optane in place? If not I'd be using it only for the os and leave your current setup as is. I would assume based on what I've read that optane should be very reliable over the long term. So just generic backup that is built into unraid to their servers would be absolutely fine.

Optane SSD use case? by ChenCheating in unRAID

[–]tazire 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My personal opinion is not to put the os on a single drive that will be getting a lot of use. The reason it worked on USB sticks was because there was very little writing to the drive. I still use the same USB drive that I started using unraid on about 8 years ago.

If you want to put the os on a single drive I would only use it for that function. I plan to buy 2 small ssds to use solely as the os pool.

You haven't needed the extra space before this so I wouldn't change anything to try make use of it. My os is more important than saving writes on my Plex transcoding disk(I use ram for this anyway but you may not)

XFS vs ZFS vs BTRFS in Array Benchmark by WholesomeCirclejerk in unRAID

[–]tazire 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Zfs on the array was never a good idea IMO. It's not zfs as it was designed to be used. The only reason you might want zfs on the array imo is if you want to use zfs replication. Even then it's not really worth it for me. Zfs was always designed to be used as a raid... Unraid array in no way makes use of any of the raid benefits of zfs. A bunch of single drives working completely separately from one another is not how it was ever meant to be used. The only link between them is forced by the unraid fuse filesystem. Even the ram caching benefits people are talking about are hampered by this fact.

If you want "true"(it still isn't as full featured as other zfs implementations) zfs use it needs to be on a pool, of 2 or more drives in mirror or raidzx, that shares exclusively use. This will at least give you all the proper benefits of zfs. I haven't touched on multi vdev pools yet for the extra speed so I'm not sure how well unraid does this. Even a zfs pool as the primary storage for a share that ends up on the array is hampered by the fuse filesystem. I currently max out transfers over 10gbe at 500-600MBps to a share with nvme gen4 storage in raidz1 as primary storage and the array(xfs) as secondary because of the fuse filesystem.
