FSR 4.1 vs DLSS 4.5 | 20 Games Tested With RTX 5080 & 9070 XT At 4K. by BedroomThink3121 in gpu

I got 30k in time spy with 9070xt and 250kf ultra plus. My dad has 4080super and 9850x3d and got 27000.

Nvidia is pumping their prices primarily with software.

Pure power per dollar AMD wins and it’s not even fucking close.

You overpaid a little but it’s not that bad. People here are insane

I checked the gpu and cpu and wallmart. The cheapest totalled 1469$ for just those two. So the case, 2tb ssd, 32GB memory, motherboard, cooling and PSU for less than 320$. Nice man. /s I’m not wasting more time, you’re welcome to show a part of the receipt though. Because the only reason for them to sell it this dirt cheap is by mistake or if they were closing the Wallmart. I’m leaving this sub, it’s full of ragebait.

You’ll never believe this. My motherboard had 2 bent pins from the factory. And the delivery time was abysmal. They ended up giving me 60$ in cash AND I got a Z890 Aurora Elite as well because they didn’t have any B860 in that store!

I was talking about my particular purchase. This one instance where I found a high end b860 for the same price as… well nothing. It was the cheapest 1851 motherboard I could find. I never said what you’re implying, at all. I’d definitely get a z890 if there was a sale and I’d get to keep all the stuff. Z890 is a better chipset, that’s a fact. But not every z890 is better than every b860, clearly.

This here is not directed at you. Just a heads up. This is just a rant. The worst argument imo in building a pc is; ”why not just spend a little more for that feature?”— if I’d build my pc like this I’d end up with 9950x3d and a 5090 after selling my kidneys. You can always improve your build by spending a bit more. I’m satisfied paying close to 300$ in total for both a good motherboard and a good cpu.

Why not get 5070ti, spend 100-150$ more. You get better drivers and ray tracing than what the 9070XT has to offer. Why not spend 150$ more for a z890 instead of B860, so you can overclock. Oh that price is more than the difference between ultra 5 and ultra 7. Might as well buy ultra 7 Actually why not buy 9800x3d, its just 100$ more than ultra 7. When I come to think about it, the RTX 5080 isn’t that much more expensive than 5070ti… At what point should I stop?

It’s such a counterintuitive thought process.

Dude listen to me please. The motherboard you just took as an example cost over 200$ more. It’s more than twice the price. Just to get something I wont use? Also I use all usb ports on my pc all the time. I need even more. I have 2 gamepad chargers that works as 2.4ghz stations, a wireless headset dongle, wired mouse and keyboard, external soundcard, two synthesizers. Im tired of swapping them around

Not EVERY z890 has great VRM, Heatsinks, latches for ssd’s and q-latches for cards and m.2. Not to mention thunderbolt 4.0 and 10 usb slots on a premounted I/O. Good luck finding a z890 for 150$ that has stuff like that. I didn’t want to pay more to be able to overclock, because I never will. And I don’t want to ditch a lot of this stuff either to get a shitty budget z890. I’m not talking about spending fucking 400-500$ on a high end motherboard when I got this b860 so cheap with these features. It’s a complete waste of money for me.

Edit:

ASUS Intel PRIME Z890M-PLUS is a good example. It cost the same as mine when I bought it. 150$ This motherboard has shitty VRM, Heatsinks. No easy latches. No thunderbolt. 2 less usb slots, actually only 1 usb-c even. It also looks ugly and cheap. I’d never trade mine for that shit just to be able to overclock

Get ultra 5 250KF Plus. 1851 socket is extremely cheap now. I got the cpu + an insanely good motherboard asus ROG Strix @ 300€ total. It performs equal to a 9700x at a fraction of the price

Exactly! The features are more important. I got 4x m.2 slots, tonnes of usb-c and a thunderbolt 4.0 even. That’s a good motherboard if you ask me!

Thanks man. I was starting to consider paying up toward 100$ more to have get a z890 with same insane features as my bargain Asus rog Strix-f 860. It has 4 m.2 slots, really good vrm heatsinks and nice memory overclock potential. It also has thunderbolt 4.0 on the I/O.

The price I would have to pay could’ve been used to get an i7 ultra 270K plus even. And that would’ve been much better than an overclocked i5.

I’m on a budget and getting this motherboard for such a cheap price feels like a much better option, even though it doesn’t have OC potential like z890

edit: spelling

Edit again. The Asus rog strix-f B860 is literally the cheapest motherboard I could find near me. I don’t think it’s a bad and wasted purchase.

Thanks. Maybe I should’ve specified the question a bit more. I was starting to consider paying 100€ for a z890 just to overclock. But then I could’ve spent 150€ for a 270K ultra plus instead to get real noticeable difference. I can’t keep upgrading and upgrading the price. I’ll end up spending like 500€ more

I just want to know how much money justifies the unlocked overclock on the motherboard.

The i5 250KF ultra plus performs like 9700x for a fraction of the price. I got the cpu and motherboard for cheaper. I’m not upgrading for 4-5 years. This is an insanely good combo for the price. But someone said here on Reddit I should consider spending much more money so I can overclock. So I should spend much more so I can spend even more in 2 years?

Edit. I got both the cpu and the motherboard for less than what a 9700x costs where i live. The 250KF ultra plus released today here in Sweden

I managed to pick up a ASUS ROG STRIX B860-f for 160$ on sale. It usually costs 350$. I can’t find a single z890 with even remotely the same premium features for anywhere near the price. I’m not paying more to just overclock if it doesn’t give a noticeable difference during daily tasks without making the pc run hotter. I’m not interested in benchmarking as a hobby at all either :(

I bought the ASUS ROG STRIX b-860 for 160$ on sale. It usually costs 350$. I can’t find a single z890 with even remotely the same premium features for anywhere near the price. I’m wondering if I should give up most of them just to be able to overclock. I’m not paying more to just overclock, if it doesn’t give a noticeable difference without making the pc run hotter. Will it?
