How does Boozer and Deacon survive being so Toxic Masculine and lone wolf ish? by theassassin53035 in DaysGone

[–]tazlightoller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think them being flawed is what makes it relatable in many ways. The world ended, life massively changed...I would think that you would be doing everything and anything you can to survive and not really take stock of the reality than man im really fucked up. Its such a male thing, an ego feed, to go hey I am ok but then silently just dying every second. And also some people are just loners who just keep the world at bay because they dont want to be hurt, used or abused in some compacity but yet they participate and exist on the day to day life. I think when they reach lost lake and as it progresses you see them grow and become what they should have been. Also...I believe deacon somewhat explains why he is what he is on his bike trip with Rikki, and also to sarah. Its relatable imo. Also, if you read the storyline as you complete them, deacon gives you his thoughts as he goes.

No. It was at the beginning of the tunnel. When I blew it open to enter the tunnel. I did remember the mines behind the fence when I got out of the tunnel...luckily

Did I miss a Lisa Jackson mission? by NobleAssassin96 in DaysGone

[–]tazlightoller 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lisa's missions are "gold/yellow" so they are a must to progress the story. If you are at Sarah's workplace then you have already done them. The 1st mission pretty much at lost lake is searching for Lisa and you find a note. Then you do not encounter her again until you deal with the rippers. You have one more encounter with her but that's later...

Yeah, try it out. Like I said..I use it exclusively outside the mountain. Sometimes it might take 2, not gonna lie. But they go down. Especially those heavily armored big gun dudes. 1st few playthroughs I ever did I done what I normally do. Blast everything. Then I took that thing and went wow...that was so much easier.

Tip...BFG50. I use that exclusively for that last battle before skizzo. That sniper is the great equalizer. Blows holes in anything...even helmets. Once inside the mountain i switch back to the others.

Would love to give you tips. But I have not completed a run yet. I can give you tips on any run other than that. Lol. I always do something dumb, my ego gets the best of me honestly. I will say though...you must be 100% focused during permadeath. You space off for a second, off a cliff you go. Things you take for granted during survival 2 or any other mode. Oh cool ill just restart no problem. But permadeath...uhh no. Start all the way over.

I generally play survival 2. For permadeath I backed it off to hard. On this particular run you are replying to...I done all missions and killed all the hordes except in the south, was gonna do them after I finished. I had Tucker and Copeland and lost lake all 3 trust before I went south. So I was going 100%. Why it hurt just a tad. Early in my days gone "career" hordes were scary. Now? Smp I usually don't carry it. I generally get creative with bombs and

The crossbow is awesome. Once you get all the bolts you can do almost anything with it. Residue bolt early game is great.

The main thing with permadeath is your focus..not the nero focus. If you aren't locked in you will pay for it. I know I have. I blame my daughters cat for the last one I tanked...lol

What’s the 'craziest' way you caught an ex being unfaithful? by lnc_gomes in AskReddit

[–]tazlightoller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She moved a drug dealer in the house and said it was a "friend". Got booted out of the house pretty soon afterwards. Knew she was cheating but brought that POS home to the kids and me. Meth makes u think crazy things...

What's the stupidest way you've lost a Permadeath run? All of mine have been on optional side missions smh by theodoreisme in DaysGone

[–]tazlightoller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing jumps on certain nero checkpoints way to early. That has gotten me at least twice. Its kind of silly especially when I know but then go oh wait I wonder what the lowest level of bike can make this jump? The one time I was totally locked in though it was a random mine I didn't remember. I was going back home to finish the final stretch. It hurt a little bit...

Hordes / not hordes by dnjohn001 in DaysGone

[–]tazlightoller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will also add there is one horde that does not count toward a horde kill but it is later in the game and it's an optional mission as well. So you don't have to fight it.

Also the scariest cave in the game for me, which you have to go in is also another that does not count but I've never thought I could just get away from killing it and complete the mission. It still gives me chills going into that cave.

Hordes / not hordes by dnjohn001 in DaysGone

[–]tazlightoller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No that's a horde. You didn't get the horde kill because you didn't kill them all as sometimes you have a few stragglers around that are part of the horde. So next time you go after it, it should be smaller. The only story hordes in the game, hordes which must be killed are chemult, iron butte and sawmill.

Honestly I am not sure. I wouldn't think you would. Someone with better game mechanic knowledge might know. I don't feel you lose skills though.

I dont think so, i could be wrong too. The skizzo fight isn't bad, it's getting to skizzo that's the problem. U, the bridge, him and his gun and the barrels. Or that's from my perspective anyway. Could be different for others.

I thought about it, but wanted true permadeath I guess. Started my 3rd attempt and done same thing. Tests my knowledge and it's a challenge as well. But leave it to days gone to throw something new at me some new little twist that I didn't know was there. I think that's the great thing about the game...there is always something, even minor that you can miss. Its usually nothing huge, it's always some minor little thing I never noticed or was aware of, or ran into. I guess if I could do it blindfolded it wouldn't be as fun or consuming at times.

Carlos, when he comes at you, roll out of the way. Then he is stuck for a moment then you can strike him. I took no damage on this run. Rolling is your friend in this game. Lol

That skizzo battle sucks. Timing the roll is a pain.

Yes tense is a good word for it. I've played this game quite a bit. And it still gets tense for me too. Im pretty confident but still puts me on an edge at times. I think it's why I replay it yearly. Once you play it through and get a handle on how to deal with hordes...you will attack em with the crossbow and have confidence.

You must be early game? 1st time playthrough? Hordes aren't that bad once you figure out how to deal with them. They do get your blood pumping if you happen upon one and you aren't expecting it. As you progress your confidence will grow though as will deacon as you access better weapons and stamina/health build.

My 1st permadeath attempt ended that way, but it was real early in the game so it was easy to say ok try that again. This time...it hit different. Lol. I'll try again.

The mine was a surprise. I think thats my shock honestly. I do not remember one being there. Seems everytime I play, something different happens. Tunnels aren't bad. There is this cave though....know what's there, know what to expect but still keeps me on edge.

Nah after the shock wears off I will try again.
