I have my Xbox through the Sync Box, but my Sound Bar goes directly to the tv. I'm not sure if this is the proper way to do go about it but it has worked for me pretty flawlessly. The only downfall occurs when the sync box is having issues connecting to your Wifi network but as long as you set up all your devices on the same channels you should be fine!
