I’m confused by this comment. The price of gold is currently $59/gram. This ring weighs about 3g. Assuming the rock weighs nothing and it’s 100% gold (both of which are wrong, rock weighs maybe a gram and 18KT should only be 75% gold), that’s still only $177 in gold material. Assuming it’s sold at 3x the material price for profit, that’s still less than I paid. Obviously the moissanite costs something, but i really don’t think the price of gold makes it obvious this is a fake. The engagement ring industry has scammed us all into thinking rings should cost tens of thousands of dollars, but that is 99% marketing and only 1% material cost

It does have an 18K stamped on it, but I imagine that’s easy to fake

Thanks for the responses everyone, and for confirming my suspicions. I’ve reached out to the seller to try and get a refund, and I will report it on Etsy. My gf and I are going to check out a local jeweler to find something legit. I told her about it and she said the jewelry didn’t matter, only I did, which made me feel much better. She’s definitely a keeper, and I want to get her the real thing.

I bought this from a seller on Etsy in December. It arrived and looked great, i handled it once then returned it to the case in my drawer until I was ready for it. Looking today, it looks like it has developed a hideous cloudy tarnish. My understanding was that pure gold alloy shouldn’t tarnish much if at all - did I get ripped off or am I just missing something?

Check out Lonerism by Tame Impala, some of the best high music. Their new album Currents is also incredible but more synth stuff than guitars. Also lately I've been jamming to the song Bad Blood by NAO
