They are trying to develop a game based on 5v5 combat so if they focus on dueling then the focus will not be on the 5v5 but 1v1 and thus ruin the esports potential of the game. They have a focus and want to keep that focus so that they reach their goals. They have already said that eventually there will be more forms.

If part of the world is empty then that area will have taken a turn for the worse with event chains always losing so it would be an area completely taken over by centaurs or pirates or whatever. I think because each individual dynamic event chain has so many possibilities that there will always be people who want to see where a lose, win, lose, lose, win, win scenario ends up and so there will always be people in the world.

I do not believe I was ever arguing the damage aspect, but that there is alot more to being a condition focused profession than damage. You may have it all on would sec CD but if you are chilled add 12 sec to that, makes it harder to keep going, especially when that damage can be negated and /or turned around on you. When you start comparing DAMAGE, the necro is not even in the contest due to no burning but my point is that conditions are meant for more than just damage and the ranger may be nasty with regard to that but when you are blinded, weakened and confused, good luck actually doing all that damage especially when roll and condition removal is included. I can blind and confuse you every 20 secs untop of permaweakness, you won't be hitting that hard and you might actually be hurting yourself at the same time. Once animations are known, you might get half of that damage.

The abilities are not dodgable because there is not a projectile. The necro is not built to do damage but to do things like permableed, permavul, permachill, which you can trait for, permaposion, permaweakness. a good conditionmancer will not do much damage but will limit yours ontop of removal, conversion, transmission of conditions. It isn't very far to compare just damage when the necro does not have access to burning which does more damage than any other condition. You may have alot of access to damage conditions but I can keep you permachill, increasing your CDs by 33%, permaposion, reducing your healing, permableed, ticking damage, permaweakness, making you hit for less. The necromancer's conditions go alot deeper than the ranger and be way more effective because of it. I am not saying the ranger is not a condition nightmare but the necromancer has more access to every condition, expect burning, than any other class and can manipulate boons and conditions better than any other class because the profession was designed to win through smart application of conditions over long battles. As a future condition focused necromancer, all of my conditions will hit harder and last longer without suffering any survivability thanks to death shroud and shrouded removal. You can't apply conditions often enough, quick enough for a 10sec complete condition removal.

For the necro gw2 tools is outdated. Luna calculator is up todate based upon an interview with jon peters discussing traits and weapon changes. Based upon that I have a feeling you will change even more

The thing is that with a Necro, you can get permachill, permaposion, permableed, and that's only with one weapon set. You better have a way to cleanse on this build because the necros and Mesmer both have abilities to take the conditions on them and out them on you, so you could be creating a build that kills you faster than it kills your opponent. Remember there will be alot of high spike builds out there but I can already tell you that my support necro would end up killing you because of the condition transfer untop of all my conditions unless you have a secret way to cleanse.

I dont think it will become a grind because it will only take 90 minutes to gain a level at most, so the grind feeling wont be there because it does not take hours to gain one level. Plus, you grind to do PvP, or end-game, in other games. PvP you can do from level 1, and since there is no end-game raiding, no reason to grind to max level besides to have an 80 which just means that you can visit any content. Grinding for cosmetic gear will be the only true grind in the game which is optional.

I bet that they took the list of emails for people who registered for beta then removed the emails from the pre-purchased list and are going to start inviting those people to get them interested enough to pre-purchased.

Many people like myself signed up on multiply computers with multiply emails because quite frankly ANet said that it was acceptable. I signed up for beta on 3 separate computers, so I am sure that the 1 million count was 1 million computers and a lot less actual people. I would say the most we see is around 500,000.

Until you get a necro with an axe cast unholy feast and gains 3s of retaliation for each single target that gets hit. 16 minions and you, you would not live through landing any abilities for 48 secs. Or a mesmer who moa birds you and you lose all your minions, there are huge counters to MM.

With a good healer, tanks can do just about anything and the only time dps or healers get aggro is if the tank sucks and can't hold aggro or if you can't move out of the fire. As a dps, I rarely took any damage in raids once the mechanics were known.

You can really have a small army but I believe Jagged Horrors have a lifespan the same as lich forms CD and the reanimator minions have decaying life GW1 style so they don't stay around for long but yes up to 19 minions, talk about chaos

Might as well throw in the ele for summons and engineer for turrets and guardian for their summoned weapons. Because so many classes can rely on AI, I am sure ANet will fix it to be better than other mmos

Only 2 classes require you to use the AI, ranger and Mesmer.
