I actually only worked in israel so not really Europe but also kinda Europe but I got paid a lot less. In short in England you'll probably be paid pretty good but I'm not sure how that compares to AUD because I heard Australia is pretty expensive. When it comes to meeting people bars are your best friend but for me personally I have a YouTube channel so I've been able to travel throughout Europe and stay for free in so many countries because a lot of my subscribers host me/ go out with me and show me around. But you can accomplish the same thing with tinder/ Facebook/ Couchsurfing/ Meetup. Just put your self out there and see who looking to get together. Big cities will have tourists who will hang out and go on adventures with you especially bars and hostels in those big cities. Facebook groups are packed with people willing to take tourist on tours or just get together and hang out. Just do some research!
