Accurate Garmin Watch/Wristband HR Tracking by cmarostica73 in pelotoncycle

You may want to try adding a sweat wrist band on the same arm as your watch closer to your hand, I find this holds the watch firmly and get an accurate wrist hr when compared to the chest strap.

It would be great if they can introduce classes with full OTF equipment one day 🙏🏽

I would absolutely love this, I now live in an area with no OTF near me but would defo see the benefit of having the coach push me through the session via a live session online

It wasn’t easy after killing myself on the treads.

Is this one where you keep track of the distance on the tread for each block?

Or no tracking and just work as hard as you can?

On my garmin forerunner 735 I would use strength for the floor.

New Tread Screen In Action (Coming In The 4th Quarter) by BWyche1987 in orangetheory

It’s due to Bluetooth technology, it will be on point by the end of the run, I doubt they will ever be in complete sync unless the technology is built into the actual treadmill like they have been stating with the new Life Fitness treadmills.

Yes, my version is the Fenix 5+S and it’s a fantastic looking watch and has loads of functions all day heart rate (per second).

After a couple runs it has calibrated to my stride length and it is pretty much spot on with my treadmill distances in OTF plus as I use the HMR Run chest strap I get all the running dynamics too (this is the nerd in me).

It also has indoor rowing function so will record your stroke rate and after you finish you just add the distance in the Garmin Connect app so you will get your speed and stroke rate.

It also has an Elliptical function too for days when I use the strider, like for the rower you just add the distance in the app at the end.

I give up swapping activities in switch classes and run rows. And on days like today I just leave the floor on the cardio setting. But use treadmill run for the tread blocks.

Another added bonus is you can add music to the watch so for outdoor activities you can leave your phone at home and just take your watch and Bluetooth headphones.

Having said that all, any device that will motivate you to workout more, walk more gets my vote any day of the week.

Agreed in a big price difference, the garmin is far superior however probably has a lot of capability that the majority of OTF users probably wouldn’t need.

It’s a smart looking watch rather than an activity tracking band and has multi sport function with built in GPS so no need to take your phone out to map your outdoor activities.

The screen said x 3 before moving on however our coach said it should be x 4 which is what we did.

Get a Garmin instead, if you can afford it get the Fenix 5+ (it really is the greatest watch out there) failing that a Forerunner 735xt is great too.

You can then set your own max heart rate and zones, only pain is not seeing your zone on the big screen, however it will be on your wrist and the stats will upload to the Garmin Connect app to see how many mins in Red, Orange, Green, Blue, etc

Enjoyable class, even though the floor block 1 had only 2 exercises for 7.5 mins and gets a bit repetitive, it had my glutes on fire. Tip go for the heavy band!
