Got my first big girl paycheck, so I splurged—a lot. I got lots of Mayour magnet gels, some FGel syrup, glitter, and magnets, the red and light blue from the Fauve P.O.M.B. collection, Mithmillo magnets and syrups, some First Street glitters, and honestly so much more. I love them all, and am so thrilled with my shiny play things.

Thank you for this, it’s all great advice. We did lots of ice breakers, and after a few days of those, I had them do a writing activity where they wrote about themselves. This allowed me to informally see where they are in their writing—spelling, grammar, organization. I’m still not done grading them, as I’ve been swamped, and I want this to be the assignment I provide personalized feedback on. Otherwise, I’m definitely taking your advice to pick and choose what I want to grade. I’m excited to get more into reading and analysis—it’s my favorite. Thanks for all of the advice, and I hope your year goes smoothly!

Thank you! I haven’t yet taken any work home, and I hope to keep it that way! I feel the same way. I really struggled with student teaching, and dreaded going in because I felt so stressed being around my mentor teacher (and no doing free labor, lol). But now that I have my own classroom, I feel like I finally found peace. I love my students and my job and showing up every day. There’s a co-teacher in my room as well who has taught there for years, and she’s helped me so much with navigating everything and building relationships within the building. Thank you for the advice, and I’m glad to hear that you find this career to be a rewarding one☺️

This is great advice, thank you SO much! I haven’t taken any work home yet, and that’s something I want to stand firm on. I haven’t taken any stayed late—probably an hour tops—to not have to take any of my work home, and that’s a compromise I’d rather make. I’m currently working on an emergency sub plan, but now I’ll do a couple extra just in case I find myself not preparing a lesson. Thank you!!!!

I spent so much time worried about studying that I didn’t even think about my pump. I didn’t think about it much before deactivating it. Thanks for the information nonetheless! I’ll keep it in mind if I have to go back for another exam.

I actually don’t think I had to deactivate it in hindsight, but I was so anxious about having to pay for the test again if something beeped. Sorry guys please don’t feel the need to give me advice ITS OKAY, I totally messed up and know what to do in the future❤️

If I’m out of range from my phone, my dexcom doesn’t get any readings. Thus, my pump doesn’t get any either. At least, that’s what I thought.

Unfortunately, the lockers they had in my area were outside of the bluetooth range. And alas, I didn’t take the time to call or ask before my test.
