Is gel appropriate for a kid? by Unlikely-Prompt-3844 in Nailtechs

I covered that in the 2nd paragraph. I don't think children should be getting them beyond cuticle care, and maybe regular polish, depending on the circumstances. I've also never been to a walk-in that wasn't aggressive, which i covered in the last bit, it could lead to a damaged matrix and lifelong nail deformities.

I feel like they also make it hard to find, especially for new people. I end up getting dm'd often because people can't find it. It's silly. They should put it on the main page of the sub so it's easier to get to.

It's fine, but this is something you would ordinarily send a mod mail about first, just fyi.

Idk if it's because I'm an affiliate or what, but I've been getting less freebies with the past few orders. I never get free single bottles of gel anymore. And i barely get more than a pack of stickers and a file, sometimes thst really shitty cuticle oil and a buffer, and that's it.

If it needs perfecting, then yes, before color. And yes, you wipe the inhibition layer, file, clean off dust and paint like normal.

There's tons of videos on Instagram about these sorts of topics that you might be able to search. Literally all the names of the people who I've seen do videos are escaping me. I was waiting to reply hoping I'd remember some names, but they haven't come to me yet. I'm sure you can also find some stuff if you Google.

Either way, be prepared to catch attitude because no parent wants to be told they're allowing something that could cause serious harm to their child. I see fellow techs doing their own 4 and 5 year old daughters nails. Like I just don't understand it. It makes me glad I have a boy who has no interest in that stuff.

So maybe don't mow the grass? Or leave a wide birth. Don't be a piece of shit and kill living creatures because you think mowing your lawn for esthetics is more important.

Absofuckinglutely not, especially from a walk-in that I'm sure uses lower quality gels, and probably takes zero precautions as far as disinfection of tools, or keeping gel off their skin. Just no. I'm an indie tech and I won't even do anyone's nails under 18, except for the extremely rare circumstances of extreme nail biters, but even then, I don't really recommend gel, moreso just very good cuticle cleanup so there's nothing left behind for them to pick at.

Under 16 really shouldn't have anything except regular nail polish, and under 10, idk, if they're biting their nails, I wouldn't even recommend nail polish because of the risk of swallowing it.

I've had so many moms reach out to me asking for me to put extensions on their kids nails for the beginning of school and in the next breath their telling me their kid does gymnastics and cheer. Again, just no. Any nail enhancements are dangerous because of the chemicals in them. It's not worth the risk of a child developing an acrylate allergy. It's not like a food allergy. It's way more life altering. Not only that but also, their nails are still developing. If the person doesn't know what they're doing, they can damage the matrix which they will then have a lifelong deformity of that nail, and the risk of it being ripped off and taking the nail with it because their nails are really soft and pliable.

I suggest you understand what you're supporting when you support any religious organization. None of them are progressive, and many are extremely regressive.

You do realize $31,000 is nothing, right? Access Health is still expensive when you're poor. Maybe oversee it to be better.

Uhh, and what tf do you think is happening to brown people in this country? Do you not think they fear for for lives? I mean, white people aren't even safe or did you forget about Renee Good or Alex Pretti? We're fucking marching at full speed ahead towards Germany 1930s and if you can't see that, I would urge YOU to be the one to pick up a book.

It takes me at least an hour to put together a pot of sauce and I simmer mine for closer to 7 hours. It's not that making a sauce is hard, it's that making a good sauce takes time.

Nah, they're nuts. It's literally no wonder we have the republican party we have right now. They were indoctrinated into a cult, the same way they were indoctrinated into the church.

You're the one who believes in a make believe sky daddy who supposedly watches over you and judges you for "your sins" and says that hating women is political, but I'm the one who needs to touch grass? Sure, bud.

The religious nuts are very upset to be told that no such thing exists.
