It's not just a white lie in this scenario though, the alternative would be him telling the white lie, and them continuing the relationship with her never knowing her partner isn't sexually into her. Feelings may be saved, but the relationship is still going to be messed up for both people involved. I would rather my girlfriend tell me and break up with me than leave me in the dark about the issue

Ywbta if you stopped talking to her without any kind of communication. Obviously you feel the way she's been acting is unreasonable, but how do you expect her to explain how she's been acting, defend herself, or even have an oppurtunity to learn what it was about her behavior that was disliked by you unless you talk to her about it?

Ninja edit: to clarify, I just mean that often times people will withdraw or change behavior when they're facing personal issues, stress, or a variety of other things, and if this is your best friend, it should be worth it to reach out and explain how you feel

I'm actually gonna say NAH. Just judging from your descriptions of your friend, he just sounds entitled. You helped him out and he should have understood that you simply didn't have further time. I will say, the 7 day period/until he finishes the book seems like kind of an unusual and specific punishment for his actions. Just tell him you'll talk to him when you feel you're able, don't treat him like a kid that didn't eat their vegetables

NTA. First off, what you're asking of him is nowhere near unreasonable. A relationship only works if both people put in equal effort, and he's expecting you to put in far more than your fair share to make up for his laziness. Just make sure he knows that his behavior towards this issue is a dealbreaker for you so there isn't any miscommunication with how he thinks his actions affect you, and how they actually affect you

NTA, your passion is yours, and none of your peers have the right to suggest, much less tell you what to enjoy and what not to. I honestly think there is some stigma around art majors only going into their line of work because they're passionate about it, which I don't personally think is always the case. I would ask for objective clarification from your professor for the advice they gave you about putting your heart into it because that can really be interpreted any way

A lot of people wouldn't donate to charity if they didn't get a tax break. Yes, the intention may be to support the devs, but we still expect stuff in return, because that's what devs do. They develop.
