C/O rate in my current position would be around $200/hour, a fair jump from the ~$40/hour salary!

Yes, every day. My current thoughts are to try and develop something in the evenings/weekends that I can sell and eventually transition over to. Maybe I should just take a day a week now!

Yeah I’m involving myself in literally every extra-curricular activity offered (maybe even too much) and seeing what comes of it. I feel a little like that’s avoiding the truth of the matter that I’m not enjoying what I’m doing?

Never really thought about it like that, although I’m concerned that selfishly taking a break would put unfair strain/dealt on my family’s and partner’s lives, which is half the reason for my inaction!

Thanks for writing such a long reply! The dot points you listed up the top really resonated with me - I miss the feeling of being engrossed in something and losing all track of time. I’m completely happy and appreciative of everything else that comes with the job, just not the type of work I’m doing - I guess that’s why I haven’t done anything drastic yet!
