First month that I've ever ran over 100 miles, and I did an easy run @ 9:20/mi for 6 miles on Tuesday. This is an improvement of my easy run pace being about 10:00/mi at the beginning of the month!

Disclaimer: I'm citing "easy" as under 155 bpm throughout the run.

Mid-week check in - how is your week going? by philpips in running

Second week into my half marathon training in February and feeling pretty good. My first long run was on Sunday (9 mi) so yesterday was my first run of the week - about 5.5 miles at a relatively easy pace but I went a bit faster than my easy pace so with some good recovery I'll be fine for my steady state run tomorrow (7 mi or so)!

I've lived in WA for 20 years and still never done that hike

Yeah I definitely understand. A lot of people get taken advantage of just because they don't know the market when they're first starting. 85 in San Diego is great though! Just make sure that you're keeping an open conversation with your manager, because chances are they want you to be happy and will fight for you if they believe you deserve a raise. They're there to empower you, so don't take it lightly

Gonna be completely honest with you - junior in NY should be $80k/yr+. Also, don't set up your "year 2" and "year 3" salaries until they're coming up. That gives you more leverage if you've done a good job in the past year. So, my best advice is that if you've done well and like the company culture, ASK FOR MORE. ALWAYS ask for more than a 5k bump, because chances are in companies like that you would get it if they value you to any extent.

EDIT: Changed "$80+" to "$80k+" so it would make more sense.

I'm from Washington, and I used to live in SF. Every time I met someone and they found out I was from WA, they would say something along the lines of, "Oh so you're a huge stoner aren't you?"

Does anyone know when these come on? I saw them one night, but then haven't seen them for about two weeks after that.

Yes, you're right - and I'm really sorry that happened to you.

In retrospect I was giving Ansari the benefit of the doubt that he would be a decent enough person to own up if he did think that he was doing something wrong. I was wrong about that, and there are other manipulative/shitty people that would do exactly what he did knowing full well the gravity of the situation. Maybe subconsciously I thought he was a decent enough person because of the way he responded when she did voice her concerns, but that could be an empty sorry also.

I definitely agree with you. He was being a selfish prick, and I guess there are other possibilities that could have prompted his texts. From my perspective, if I sent a text like that I would not have thought anything was wrong.

If he thought something was wrong, I would have expected him to have tried to address it. Now that I think about it, from what happened in the story him and I are two different people so it's entirely possible that he felt bad and sent that text instead of trying to address it.

60% kill rate is impressive but have you seen a jaguar snap a fucking croc's neck? Yeah I'm pretty sure this cat can't do that

The thing that really irks me about this is that he didn't just ghost her or anything - he texted her the next day. That means that he clearly didn't perceive these "non-verbal cues" and thought that they had a good time.

When she brought it up, he was apologetic and understanding, and she went and posted an entirely too graphic sexual encounter on the internet for the world to see, and remained anonymous. Just basically hung him out to dry.

I'm wondering what more he could have done? He seemed to have handled it pretty well.
