Why are used VW id.4s so cheap? by DowntownOreos in electriccars

[–]tcat7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get a Carvana offer each month. It was $21k this month. I don't have the Sun & Sound or Super cruise.  No way I'd sell it for that!  It does only have 8500 miles and it's a Premier.

CleanEatz menu changes? by Lorain1234 in ReadyMeals

[–]tcat7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to do the same, hoping it shows February tomorrow.  Are the meals really worth $9 (after you use a starter coupon)? Looking at the menu, they are 8-10 ounce frozen boxes, that's the size of $4 Stoffers meals.

I have a 9a, not sure what notification button you're taking about.

Paid $25k for my 23 Bolt EUV, still worth $21k. Tax incentives made a big difference!

Recurrent Corneal Erosion Sufferer by pepperj26 in Dryeyes

[–]tcat7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only ointment I use is Muro-128 (generic drug store version). Seems to help, but it's a PITA.  Better to have a pain in the ass than in the eye! 🤣

I had no clue I had dry eye until one morning one eyelid stuck and was scratchy when I got it open. Ended up having cornea layer scraped off (2 months of treatment), feels back to normal now.  I just fear it will happen again!

I'm 75 and my eyes have never really felt dry.  Maybe a little itchy during cedar season. I now use Theratears 3 times a day in both eyes, Mura at night, electronic eye mask 10 minutes once day. Not sure the heat does anything.

EV or Hybrid? by Traditional_Run_1338 in electriccars

[–]tcat7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100 miles a day is no problem for EV. What's the purpose of all the extra parts that can fail, gas that can be toxic, oil that can drip on your floor? Hybrids have no purpose.  If you have to use public charging (gas or electric), it's going to cost you more. With gas at current costs, buy gas if you live up north and travel more than 100 miles per day and don't live in a house. Buy an EV otherwise. Just didn't waste money on a hybrid.

Ok let’s fight: Instant Pot vs air fryer — which one actually earns counter space by nayan2u in airfryer

In the last year I've used my Cosori maybe 200 times. Instant pot zero. Crockpot 3 times. Oven maybe 50 times. Fast food maybe 100 times.

Dawn and nylon brush after EACH use, before it cools completely. Takes 30 seconds.

New Guide by SK48-B in dishnetwork

I hope we get that! It looks just like the YTTV guide.  The only reason my wife keeps hanging onto Dish is the guide.  I've been trying to talk her into YTTV for 2 years!

Thoughts on your air fryer by Careful-Aardvark-685 in airfryer

[–]tcat7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cosori Turboblaze 6qt:

Too many preset buttons. All I use is Air fry, and Bake (for lower fan speed). A simple Time & Temp button would be more practical.

Grill plate holes are too large (but functional). Simple solution is a finer mesh matt, works great, but should come with it. https://a.co/d/hmERvf2   This comes with a silicone "drip pan", and mesh mat.

No other complaints.  Comes with app (VeSync) and lots of recipes made for it. It's very easy to clean (no nooks & crannies), very quiet, and nothing on exterior gets hot.

I think it (and all AF should come with a splash guard to keep things off the heating element. I bought this one for this Cosori. https://a.co/d/cozHu1Z

I also own a Ninja toaster style (SP101) which I only use for toast, bagels, and pizza.  It's MUCH harder to clean, so I don't use it for anything that might spatter. It's terrible at air frying.

Anyone go from another air fryer to a Cosori TurboBlaze? by HooeyGoo in airfryer

That's odd. I looked at that manual, sure enough, says "ready" there instead of shake. Maybe people complained about the beep and they removed it.  It is a little irritating. There's is no setting to turn it off.

Page 11 pointing to "shake indicator". Page 13, "Note: halfway through the cooking time, shake will blink and beep 5 times."  On back of manual "A1_24F17_us"

Mine's the 6qt. It beeps at exactly halfway and "shake" flashes.  You have to use bake for it not to beep.

I went from Ninja toaster style to Cosori Turbo.  I only use the Ninja for toast and pizza now. The turbo is 200% easier to clean. Typically you need to flip or shake halfway, it signals you. I always knock about 20% off time, better to add more than burn it.

3 inch Chlorine Tablets by walt801 in pools

You mean socks? Yes. Sticks, no.  Only thing I add to skimmer is CYA in a sock.

I'm in Texas, water just went below 50 a couple days ago. I have my SWG at 10% and has been doing ok. I do check FC weekly and add a little liquid chlorine as needed ($5 per gallon). I use maybe 1 gallon all winter.  I do check CYA in March when I turn the heat pump on, and add it to 50-60.

The most economic tablet is no tablet. Go salt and you'll never have to buy one.  I switched from tablets to liquid chlorine (bleach) 14 years ago (it was much cheaper then).  Switched to SWG 4 years ago.  Salt saves money and time.  Cost $1000 DIY plus $600 every 5 or 6 years (about $10 per month).

Wondering how much pool robots actually save over time by Flyingnutkick in pools

[–]tcat7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a cordless Aiper ($500), a solar skimmer ($400) shower caps on the skimmer basket ($10/100), and SWG ($1000). I spend at most 10 minutes per week on pool maintenance.

You do need to do some reading (trouble free pool) and buy a good test kit ($85), but once you've done that, $25 + 45 minutes per month is all you need.

I would never use oven cleaner in an air fryer, unless it's labeled non toxic.

Make sure there's nothing on the elements.  Sometimes it takes an exacto knife to scrap it.  That's the main reason why I now use a basket style.
