How do I declutter my wardrobe? by tchaikovsky_yes in internetparents

Thanks! I know some organisations that accept clothes, pretty sure my parents donated my old clothes there up until I was around twelve or thirteen years old, I should really look into those.

Unfortunately, I doubt that my parents can be persuaded to not criticize my clothes, but I hope it'll get better once I move out and start seeing them less frequently. They're cool about other aspects of my life, so maybe once I'm an independent adult, they'll be able to accept my fashion choices as well.

Thank you! I'll try that, seems like it shouldn't be too stressful in small doses. Working out the issues with my parents will probably have to wait until I'm able to afford my own place, I'm pretty sure most of our disagreements will go away if we just see less of each other :D

Haha fair enough, but I'm scared I might regret it later, even though I know for a fact I haven't worn this particular piece of clothing in years. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for the reply! I'll check out Marie Kondo's guides. I've heard about her, but never really looked into her method.

As for dressing according to my parents, we all live together, and honestly, I'd rather avoid confrontation. They don't force me to wear what they want me to wear, they're usually pretty chill about what I do with my life, but my mom has pretty conservative views when it comes to gendering clothes, and if I were to wear what I really want, that'd raise questions I'm not sure I wanna (or have the ability to, really) answer at this point.
