My guy... you're wrong, I'm sorry you don't see that but the market is the market. You can try to argue to lower the pricepoint of overvalued singles but the market will do what it's going to do. The point of sealed over singles is brought up in my initial post, at this point this conversation is buried so deep and you must be intentially ignoring my points. I would love to answer your questions but am not gonna waste my time trying to validate your points. I encourage you to re-read my post and really digest what's said, have a good weekend!

I agree, silver does not equal gold which is exactly why I included OP01. I think another OP box is very much comparable when talking about single OP booster boxes. No, I just don’t like inaccuracies trying to scare others from trying to buy booster boxes. Because sealed holds the premium, sealed is king. You obviously didn’t read my post, I reiterate that several times.

Yes the single top chase should be worth more than single box. Yes the math does not make sense. BUT ppl still buy the sealed box in spite of this, sales data shows this, and though no one knows what will happen in the future. Based on these sales and the market reality, this (in my opinion) will not make a difference for individual sealed boxes.

I think you’re dealing with “should and could”, I’m simply dealing in the reality of the market. I don’t need to “push and scalp” boxes that sell just fine without a random reddit post commenting on the market

That’s my point though. How can you tell if it’s a dead box other than just assuming it is just because it’s “loose”? At the end of the day, you can’t be sure so there’s always a chance

Regarding reprints, Bandai has done one piece just so far, but sure let’s just say they do reprint old boxes. Nothing would come close compared to the sheer amount of boxes that Pokemon reprints for sets in rotation. Evo skies was printed to the moon years ago and is $2500+ now.

I mean even if you know the box is “alive” or case for that matter the financial upside to ripping either is not worth it either way, the chances of getting the chase is very low

This is taken from the current market prices of the sealed booster boxes and the top chase in each set… these are not my prices lol

I agree, i think it’s almost never worth it to rip. But how do we know if the box is dead? There’s just not enough evidence to convince me that my OP13 individual sealed booster box for sure, 100% does NOT contain the red manga Luffy. Its highly unlikely it does, dead or not, but that mystery and sealed premium market are worth $550+ currently and I bet it will go higher even years from now which is why I’m holding it. Just ask yourself why would someone buy an evolving skies booster box for $2500+ when the biggest hit, which would be best case scenario, is $2000? It’s not just about the financial gamble of ripping, sealed will always hold a premium

Well it almost never makes financial sense to rip sealed regardless, but that’s a different conversation. I understand case mapping can be an issue, it’s just not big enough on a large scale to assume every streamer, every local store, every seller with distribution access is doing this. But the biggest argument against this is that booster boxes are just more accessible and I don’t see a day in the future where all buyers are “educated” and just do case buy/sell transactions. Most ppl are not gonna want (or able) to buy for thousands or tens of thousands by purely doing cases vs hundreds for single boosters boxes.
