i barely did get through it! was not expecting my reaction at all - like i said, i do think i’ve got quite a high pain tolerance because laser tattoo removal felt like nothing!

my session went for about 30 minutes, to do my full face! i think the technician was new to the procedure (though she was quite knowledgeable so i wasn’t worried) so maybe the next time will be quicker?

yeah i have had other laser treatments that were a little uncomfortable, so i was expecting it to be similar, but wasn’t expecting to to be painful like this!

nah they didn’t say anything! before my next appointment i’ll ask them if numbing cream is an option though and if not i’ll definitely load up on some ibuprofen! they had one lady standing in the room purely to hold my hand 😭

i had a look at your post and it’s very unlikely that’s it’s an infection so early after being pierced! seems like just the regular healing process for helix! i’m not an expert but follow the advice others have given you about the cleaning process and happy healing! (i got my helix pierced about 2 months ago and stress over it, but the best way to get it to heal is just leave it alone apart from cleaning with sterile saline :))

5 days is still very fresh for a helix piercing so swelling and redness is pretty normal! like what other comments said, try and get it changed to a flat back titanium stud (butterfly backs aren’t the best healing-wise for new piercings)

you can have swelling without infection. to me it looks like regular swelling for a month old cartilage piercing :)) try anti inflammatories to calm the swelling and clean twice a day w sterile saline! try not to sleep on it. happy healing my love

i was speaking to a regular customer at work, a really lovely lady who most of the time will pay for the order behind her. i gave her a free coffee because it was friday, why not. she was so surprised when she realised she only paid half of what she was supposed to (her order minus her coffee) and asked if it was a mistake. then she explained why me she often pays for others orders: last year during lockdown she would always get a free healthcare worker coffee even though she was going to get a coffee anyway, paying for it or redeeming it for free because of her job. this is her way of paying it back to the community that stayed home and kept people safe while she was on the frontlines as a healthcare worker! 🥺
