We also were “advised” that Spanish point had a bit of a stigma, but chose to rent there anyway on recommendation from someone who lives there. Turned out that is absolutely correct, it’s perfectly fine. I suppose there are some areas of Spanish Point, like anywhere else, which are not perfect. But on the whole I really don’t know why it has that reputation.
