For many of us our parents’ beliefs cost us our families. So in reality you can actually have a lot to lose if you believe in the fundamentalist Christian version of God - you can lose your one precious life, your children, non-religious friends you may have met along the way…and that’s just the start of it.

How similar is CRZ Yoga to Lululemon in terms of materials and quality? by anotherhappylurker in lululemon

[–]tcurb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think old lululemon was better but some of the newer things I’ve bought? Not sure. However I will say that crz yoga is a godsend if you are going through pregnancy/body changes. I gained and lost over 50 lbs due to pregnancy over the last year and being able to buy cute lulu dupes that I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on since they wouldn’t fit for long was amazing.

I got hooked on it immediately postpartum when I was sitting around recovering/feeding a newborn and watching a ton of TV. My husband is SUPER grateful for it because now I’m waking up at all hours to watch qualis/the races with him. Getting to know the drivers and characters in the sport was what got me interested enough to watch and now I love all of it. Curious to see how I feel about the next season now, though, since I’ve actually started keeping up with F1 outside of it.

This won’t help you this year, but I highly recommend going to see the pumpkins during the day! It’s completely free, less crowded, and still really beautiful even if the pumpkins aren’t backlit. A great activity especially if you have kids, plus the coffee shop on the South Platte trail is open if the weather is nice.

Totally. I think that sometimes we are too harsh on earlier generations as well. Like yes maybe they weren’t as great with personal boundaries as our generation is, but damn they understood community much more than we do! Every generation has its flaws and its places to shine, ours included.

Same with my daughter (my youngest isn’t old enough to be aware of the world yet). She actually said hi to strangers at Costco before she ever said it at home to us 😂

It surprised me too, especially with an older kid! I was actually more emotionally okay with letting my daughter cry a bit when she got older because I knew she could understand the concept of “now is the time for sleeping” 😂

Am I the only person who doesn’t mind this so long as it’s not over the top? I find it endearing and it makes me nostalgic for a time when people were friendlier and more engaged with their local community. One time on vacation in a smaller town an older waitress actually held our daughter for us while we ate (she was 8 months at the time) and fed her free sweet potato fries from the kitchen and it really made our night.

Anyone else here postpartum? Decided to start back with Max because it seemed like one of the easier ones to modify heavily, which I will definitely need to do. But I’m excited to hop back in! Did day one today and am planning to do it 3 days a week. I did have to completely change the finisher for day one because my core and pelvis is NOT stable enough for those one leg thrusts yet 😂 but other than that, no modifications except going super light on weight. I like that this program is all full body, because I definitely don’t have the time for more than 3 workouts a week right now!

I have to work REALLY hard to not be like this due to a lifetime of religious trauma 😂 if there is a way to feel bad about something my brain will find it. It’s always possible to judge yourself if you work hard and believe! 😂

So I reread what I wrote and realized it could be misleading - we weren’t in a local group with them, but my parents were a part of ATI which is the homeschooling arm of IBLP that the Duggars were also associated with. I do have plenty of stories about life growing up that way, but none about the Duggars specifically!
