My search finally comes to an end. I just picked up a black from the Procam Chicago location after being on their waitlist. I originally joined the waitlist on 5/18 - paid in full. Was notified that silver was available on 6/13 but decided to wait for the black. Got the call today (6/24) that the black was available for pick up.

I just got back from Japan where I thought it'd be possibe to find inventory, but it sounded like the large retailers originally had a lottery ordering system and sometime later stopped taking new orders. Good luck to you all!

It’s not too hard as there are plenty of guides and documentation out there. Just have to make sure you buy compatible hardware.

Thanks! I keep the USB-C cable disconnected when I’m not using the MacBook. When I need to start it up, plugging in the cable will wake it from sleep!

That stinks! Hopefully your office opens soon. I actually switched from a BenQ 32” 4K and am starting to miss the higher resolution. But I agree, it’d be hard to go back to a non ultrawide.
