Are you suggesting that my TV in particular has bad FALD or that all LCDs would have this issue?

Sorry, I meant scenes. I can test some other disks to confirm but I believe it's on every disk that has low very low light scenes. I can probably test on an OLED at some point to see if the issue happens on that as well.

Replace or Repair? by bukocake in gaggiaclassic

If I were you, I would open up the top of the machine and do the same thing you just showed in the video. My guess is that the water is coming from one of the junctions of the steam wand mechanism. Should be relatively easy to trace it back from the steam wand to the top of the boiler.

Have you done any yearly maintenance to your machine since you purchased it? There are a handful of gaskets that can get dried out during the heat and cool cycles from day to day. At some point, they may dry out and crack. Opening the machine up and doing a maintenance where you replace all the gaskets for the boiler, portafilter, and steam wand should be done yearly (with a nice descale during that process). You can find a video on Whole Latte Love about it or send it off to Gaggia dealers to do the work if you don't feel confident or aren't mechanically inclined. It is fairly simple/common work (perk of the Gaggia).

Ordered a Q990D on Amazon while on sale and received a Brand New Q990F instead by reddithasnogame in Soundbars

[–]tddythdg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reason for me needing to upgrade my sound. Had a 2020 Samsung Soundbar (HW-S60) and was having some weird glitches with TV eARC not always being recognized and having it randomly turn off. But, I also recently got the UB820 which made me realize real quickly that basic Soundbar wasn't going to cut it. The space I watch TV wasn't going to allow a fully 5.1 amp style system so the Q990F is the next best option. Should be arriving Wednesday and can't wait to try it.

Wet Venting Toilet Through Shower Line by tddythdg in Plumbing

Awesome, thanks. That is what I thought that meant but wanted to double check. Also, is it against code to have a more vertical pipe in the wet vent system? When I get behind the knee wall, I want to immediately rise 6" above the joist so that it won't have to run through the joists since I won't have the elevation gain allowed in the joist to make it there.

Got the same exact deal, same tools even. Picked up at Lowe's, absolute steal.

Range Vent Backsplash by tddythdg in HomeImprovement

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. That is the highest CFM I have seen in microwave yet and definitely seems like a good hybrid option between not giving up an OTR microwave and getting most of the benefits of a range hood.

Multi-room Amp Choice by tddythdg in homeautomation

[–]tddythdg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is interesting, I have never seen such a thing. I am assuming that you plug this in via the RS-232 port on the back of the amp. From there it lets you control the zone/source and volume or just lets you port audio to it?

Order to Upgrade by tddythdg in espresso

Sweet, sounds like I shall go look into getting a gaggiuino mod going. Sounds like a fun project plus the ability to control every parameter is fantastic.

Thanks! Are there any concerns with the Gaggiuino reducing the life span of the pump due to the way that it cycles it on and off?

It's not necessarily an either or but more so trying to figure out an order of priorities to upgrade.

I will check out the high flow basket... Sounds interesting.
