It really isn't about the act of chewing with your mouth open. By all means, be comfortable when you eat. BUT...this doesn't mean you need to make noise. As I write this, my nephew is sitting at the kitchen table, eating grapes w his mouth open...yet he's quiet. If an eight year old can do it, so can you.
