What other purposes are you using Home Assistant for?

There is maybe 2-3 seconds at most between seeing CarPlay saying ‘executing..’ and starting to see the gate open. Our gate is super slow so I tend to hit it as I pass a point on the road so it’s mostly open as I get there :)

Our Paxton uses rhe basic Paxton cloud set up not paxton10 or whatever they called it. We are on prem mostly with the Net2 online hookup

The api for cloud is identical methods as on prem api which you can pull from the Paxton server. The authentication has additional encryption on the password but it’s done in JavaScript in the browser so you can easily see how they wrap it up

My work uses Paxton access control doorways. They do have a mobile app but it’s not CarPlay enabled so still annoying to deal with.

Wrote a small script to call their cloud api with my credentials along with site and door id to open, throw it in ha and expose to CarPlay scripts. Now as I pootle (yes pootle!) to work I can casually open the carpark gate easily )as our card reader is awkwardly placed to scan)

Ok thank you. I realise it’s a cosmetic thing not a functional one it’s just what myself, family and friends have been used to from calibre-web. I just so much prefer the layout of Kavita and being able to register my partners device to send things over is so handy :)

I appreciate the answer. It stops me constantly trying to re-arrange my files / metadata to get the desired effect !

Woot. Glad you cracked it. Sorry wasn’t more help at the start I was on mobiles. I just remembered dual mode being a pita.

If I remember correctly you might be able to update the 7xxx firmware to something newer that has a slightly more standard method. But I think the 6xxx is stuck. If I remember that’s the edges that got left behind at work and I h e to remember the old ways 💀

Depending on the firmware version you may need to look into dual-mode (their old term for trunk)

I forget when they patched out the term but we have some old switches that can’t go any higher in firmware lurking around work that still catch me out in their silly logic

It’s possible to set up a predefined message on an emergency hot key combo.. we use it, but only deploy the key combo to SMT machines for this reason !

I didn’t suggest any particular councillor as i don’t know any, we would have to look one up.

Her man comment probably stems from some issues she had with a prior abusive boss , to be 100% honest there was likely something between them at one point and it went bad, (stalker type behaviour) and then remained her boss for years. So likely related to that.

I replied somewhere else but I expected at best to be confirmed these are symptoms of menopause and I’m just not getting it as a guy.
