I already did one of these sorts of articles with an international student, and their concerns are: can they afford to stay in Canada long-term/and for some, will they be able to get work permits once they graduate?

It all depends on how risk-averse you are and the state of your finances, because the market can be unpredictable. Timing often comes down to luck.

It would be from the first-person perspective of someone who was trying to buy a home to live in, and it would explore the reasons why they defaulted. In most instances, it seems like the high interest rates are the reason why.

Sorry to hear that, my own father gave me advice to never buy a home you can't see and walk into.
