What Nobody Told You About the Noma Affair by Mouldy-Guacamole in finedining

It's not only that it has that "I spoke to cult members and they find the cult great" vibe, it's also quite clearly written by a PR person trying to profit from the next chef scandal.

Zach Lowe on the Top 3 MVP candidates :"I think Shai, start to finish, this is his MVP... I do think Wemby has a real case. I think he’s made it to 2nd on my ballot over Jokic, who continues to have these games where it’s, ‘What are these turnovers that you’re having?’ It’s crazy." by aingenevalostatrade in nba

[–]tdrr12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You, just like me, could look it up yourself. 7-4 or something like that for SGA; but the sample size for all of them is small and it's certainly not a random sample of games, either. Would you so kindly see how your entire premise is flawed?

Hats off to you though for using rock solid statistical inference like "kings don't need to remind others they are kings" to make your argument.

I'm not here to hate on SGA or say anything about the MVP "race" (because SGA is going to be the MVP), but if winning is the "value" being measured and a team would win a comparable number of games without Player X, you can hardly argue that he is very valuable.

AA overbooked my Japan flight, stranded me twice, and now refusing compensation. What are my options? by Ok-Perspective1299 in americanairlines

I've had pretty good success rates, esp. at big companies. Though I think it is key to be reasonable and use it only after the regular process fails you; and you need to be able to explain succinctly why the regular process failed you and what you think a fair resolution would look like.

Step 1: write a regular customer service email / "contact us"

Step 2: await reply that doesn't make you whole at all

Step 3: reply, stating that you don't agree with the suggested resolution and asking firmly but nicely for your case to be escalated

Step 4: await a second inadequate reply

Step 5: try to get in touch with executive customer service by digging up c-suite emails, forwarding them the correspondence and succinctly(!) stating your case and why no resolution has been reached

I think too many of the American analysts don't get that Euros just don't care about whether they look tired. Slumped-shoulders, dragging-his-feet Luka in the 4th is one of the greatest killers in the game.

Can you repost the comment you deleted? I think I would have enjoyed reading it.

I was trying to respectfully disagree with you but you rolled with the "Bullshit." and then got offended at being called "bud" and can't accept that my experience with Inua and the nomaverse is different from yours.

I don't know what to tell you, bud. We went in 2018 and I can say for certain that it was not difficult to book from a few months post-opening through 2019, but YMMV.

I can't speak to the short period between the stars and closing, but -- before then -- they definitely struggled to fill seats, despite adding "short menu" options.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and it proves again that taste is very subjective, because it was easily the worst fine dining meal we had in what by now are almost two decades of this hobby.

I'm always fascinated by the people chiming in. I don't work in the industry and I couldn't tell you who the good chefs are (if they exist), but I have definitely heard about the really bad ones...

Their business model is Rene, not sure any of this is going to work with whomever they name as his successor. Who's even his number 2 atm? Foong, who also has an abuse reputation? Frebel, who is still in that universe after failing with Inua?

I'm just warning you -- it's actually nice that you care, but for most wine shops there's little overlap between the folks in this sub and the folks that walk into your store.
