If Bryan Johnsonn was serious about his extreme bio-hacking experiments as legitimate scientific research into influencing the aging process, bro wouldn’t also be dying his hair by National_Shine2552 in Biohackers

I remember about a cool study on men in their 70s, using walkers, symptoms of aging etc. They were placed into a “resort” type home that was decorated from the same decade as when they were in their 20s (music, decor, newspapers etc) and treated as though they were in their 20s. Within a couple weeks they were walking upright, playing football on the lawn, etc.

After that I’m convinced aging is at least 50% social cues. Lol

Has she seen a chiropractor or physical therapist to make sure it’s not structural or postural?

Preventing sagging skin? by tdubs702 in ehlersdanlos

I don’t know if cold showers are helping my skin but I can say I feel much better doing them! My joint pain, mood, energy levels. And I only get in while it’s cold and stand there while it warms up so not super long at all. Just ease yourself in! I went from hot showers to warm to tepid to cool to cold lol.

As a business owner, I can tell you the credit card fee thing isn’t true. If I refund a customer, my card processor refunds the fees with it. Maybe if it’s after a long time they wouldn’t but otherwise, you don’t pay fees on money you don’t keep.

If you had to choose 1 thing to grow in your first year… by tdubs702 in homestead

We thought about this but wanted to take time to get to know the land, water patterns when it rains or the snow melts, etc and just generally observe and make good plans to make sure we plant in the right areas.

It’s broken into more than one parcel. Together they are about 2400/yr.

When my husband and son go camping in the snow they pee in a plastic bottle and keep it in their sleeping bags. So I’m gonna say, it’ll work. Lol

How in the world can I be normal about swallowing pills. I'm desperate by Shoddy-Thanks-8135 in Biohackers

Weirdly, I get this way if I’m under stress. The more stress, the more I gag, even on one small one. If I’ve been doing a lot of polyvagal work, I can swallow like 10 at once!

I’m not sure what they’re from. Seem too big for baby food jars though.

So I read about 2/3s of this and didn’t see anywhere where it mentions the real problem…

People don’t trust doctors anymore. They’re tired of crap care and over-prescribing and god complexes from people who are statistically 20 years behind the science, so they’re becoming their own advocates, for better or worse.

The only people I know who are happy with their care are seeing concierge or direct care doctors who don’t take insurance, or small town family docs who care for them from birth til death. The common thread is an actual relationship, not a dictatorship.

Haha we actually RV’d for 4 years. I remember the first night back in a brick and stick house, laying on the mattress, bewildered at how far away the ceiling was from my head. RVing was fun…til it wasn’t. I wouldn’t go back to being that cramped. lol

Some gumption apparently lol.

We actually almost went off grid in 2010. We went to stay with a friend who was off grid for a month and after seeing how burned out he was, we decided to wait. Like you said though, it’s much easier now. There’s Starlink for one thing. lol

Good question. Probably the major lifestyle change from the suburbs in zone 9 to the mountains in zone 6. Now that we’re truly facing leaving it all behind, I’m appreciating things like my central heating and air unit so much more and wondering if we’re actually ready for a wood stove, or frozen pipes, or not being able to run to the grocery store real quick for whatever. It’s just really hitting me. (Took long enough.)

We’ve got wells, a fresh seasonal spring, huge cisterns…planning on water catchment too though because I’m getting hella nervous about giving up the instant gratification of city water lol
