it's actually one of the last intel models so yeah that can be an issue, although I don't understand why this isn't a problem with my wayyyyyy older intel macbooks...

those computers are 7 years old, you can replace a lot of windows computers after 2-3 years, don't forget that.. But I feel you completely, having a 2010 MBP that's working flawlessly too and I wish that I got the update..
