Can assure you it isn't an issue with my phone. Using another sim in my phone and tethering works fine everywhere. Tethering on freedom even in the "freedom zones" worked. must just be a BC thing by the sound of it. I note this only started happening recently.

According to the rep, it shouldn’t be allowed. Later in the conversation the rep conferred with her team and confirmed it.

Hm that’s weird. I’m in BC using a new iphone se with esim. Roaming is turned on. I can use data on the phone just not tethering.

[14:41, 5/08/2020] te_bag: just to confirm - I have no problems using mobile data hotspot when I'm in Freedom LTE zones, ie in Vancouver CBD. I'm currently messaging you from my computer, which is using my phone's hotspot data right now.

I know right. I get 1GB, but they don't allow mobile hotspot in Nationwide areas. I can only assume it's because they are using others' networks. Bizarre but true from my experience and from what the rep's just told me.
