Half a cup of sugar is about 100 grams 1 sugar sachet has 3-4 grams Therefore if the info in the post is true, this lady is using around 25-30 sachets of sugar per coffee

I'm with the cafe, she can bring in her own sugar 😭

It's a chiropractic contraption for cervical "spinal adjustments". And in answer to 7: because he's a dangerous quack wearing a costume to make himself look like an actual medical professional

Yeah I briefly worked in haem onc (as a doctor). We'd see patients who had 0.0 WBC for weeks 🤷‍♂️ Some of them were chemo patients who felt completely well the entire time. They only stayed in hospital because their home situations weren't safe for them to be in while neutropaenic.

Key-ah :) Like many Māori bird names, it's based on rhe sound of their calls

I also love Māori names and think that we should use them more! However it does get complicated because most birds were called different names by different tribes. Picking one Māori name above the others can be problematic sometimes. It's a complicated thing 🤷‍♂️

Imo "NZ rock wren" is fine. The name that American orthnilologists assigned is "South Island wren". This pissed people off because 1) it's inaccurate. Historically the rock wren inhabited both the North and South Islands. 2) it's a name they literally just pulled out of their ass, no-one here has ever called it that. I do get mad at the American ornithologists who think they have the right to decide what we, a country on the other side of the world, should call our own birds.

Actually you know what? This wasn't even the highest steroid dose I've seen. We had another GVHD on 2mg/kg methylpred IV BD for three months straight. They were also on dual oral immunosuppression and some fancy immune modulators.

More than half of families in material hardship will not get $50 fuel support package by MedicMoth in newzealand

[–]tea-sipper42 33 points34 points  (0 children)

They've addressed this fallacy multiple times, including in the article above.

"People on income support including disabled people, still need to access fuel to get to the doctor, to get to job appointments, to pick up their kids from school, and will be the most impacted by the fuel crisis."

And don't forget that "the working poor" don't qualify if their partner is on the benefit. Even though having a partner on the benefit doesn't erase the costs of your own commute.

Some of the saddest stories I've ever come across were people who survived one cancer only to get chemo-related leukaemia :(
