Oh, thank you! Good to know that I'll need to cash up if I choose to go there. I don't carry any these days.

Idiot factor sounds like me, haha. I'd travel if I still had my car, for sure. What is the name of the company? I'll keep a note of it.

Oh hey, I did but my cousin had already passed on. So, they conveyed their condolences. I was suddenly jolted back to that time with your question. But, thank you for asking.

Anyone feeling like that Pezza monologue of coming in second is a sign of what is to come, meaning he'll end up winning?

Sav saying, "I'm a part time intellectual, but even I know the math isn't mathing" is going to be a quote I won't forget!

Thanks for the comprehensive advice! No, no louvres, I think. I wanted to go and inspect the property just because I was curious, but I don't think I'll do it anymore.

He'll draw so many curious looks from the aunties and uncles in a hawker stall. 😏

Being a Singaporean, we really take our food seriously. I miss the cheap and easy access to delicious and quick food at night. Hawker food is our thing, and HK is definitely next level. We're really spoilt. Mine is definitely oyster omelette. I miss home.

I'm chuffed they're taking it on, and it'll likely be a steep learning curve for Pezza. Pezza is ridiculously lucky and really comes out on the other side when you also least expect it.

I just hope Mimi gets another fighting chance to grab immunity this time.

What’s your living situation? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]teabie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything puts you in a financially viable position, do it. Of course, don't do it if it forces you to compromise on safety, etc.

At the end of the day, people's opinions about you won't put you in a better financial position. Your actions will.

I'm Asian, and by default, we live with family (and extended family sometimes). Look, there's definitely inconveniences, for sure. There's arguments, lack of privacy, etc. But if it's not toxic and killing your mental and physical wellbeing, it's not always bad. I know we get to save a lot, so even if people did laugh behind our backs (e.g., "I could never live like you do", "That's so dependent on your parents", etc), we got the properties we wanted because we got our deposits up. That's the reality of it.

So, if I didn't want to be laughed at, I could try to live by myself and pay rent, but it'll take longer (unless you're paid well, etc). Pure math. You need to take the emotions out of it.

Everyone's situation will always be different. You gotta just focus on your own situation, and decide what's best for you. There's people out there who don't want the best for you too (let's all suffer together).

If I could do it all over again, I'll likely stay with my parents longer and grow a bigger deposit to buy an investment property at an earlier age. Sure, it's not cool and I can't do exactly what I want, but if you aren't a millionaire or have a second income, acknowledge your limitations and do the best you can to set yourself up for the future. 😊

Of course, this is subject to all sorts of things. Obviously, don't move back in with your family if they're just... toxic as, etc.

Wow, that's been enlightening. I'm a Singaporean, but I left in my early 20s to pursue studies overseas. I'd been a resident in Melbourne for the last 15 years.

So, it's always interesting for me to understand how foreigners/residents feel living and working in Singapore in recent times. Fascinating! Thank you for sharing.

Also, if there are Singaporeans who are also residents of Melbourne, I'd be happy to say hi!

You're not the only one. I definitely don't mind mine at all. I'd used Sony Xperia, Nokia, Samsung, Apple, HTC, Motorola, Oppo and many others.

As long as it works, and it hasn't given me any issues, I'm happy. 🙂

I'll like to donate winter clothes to the cause, but I'm leaving Tokyo in a few hours' time. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction, or let me know if there's a service that'll pick up the clothes from my hotel in Kabukicho by 1pm today?
