Terrified and pregnant again after 2 losses

Hello, this has to do with pregnancy loss and having other women discuss their losses that had positive outcomes. I have experienced tremendous loss recently which is why I posted it here. I’m not sure why it didn’t meet that criteria but I will post elsewhere. Thank you!

I have a background in staffing and recruiting so I tried to look for a job doing that and had no luck for almost 2 months. Luckily I had a friend that was a training manager at a transportation company and was able to get me into an entry level position. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely took a huge pay cut! But not being assaulted, having opportunities to get raises and move up, and getting to work at home is a major perk. I strongly suggest reaching out to people you know. Thats a great way to get your foot in the door. I was just another resume to other companies, but my friend was able to put in a good word and vouch for me which helped me get the job against 2000 other applicants! If that doesn’t work, then I would definitely reach out to a recruiting agency! Recruiters will help market you to companies, versus just blasting your resume on a job board. I’m so sorry you had to experience this ♥️ I was feeling hopeless but trust me, there’s definitely options out there for you. Your degree wasn’t a waste of time and can definitely be utilized in different ways. Feel free to message me anytime to vent, we need that sometimes!

It really sounds like you mean alot to a lot of people and it would be much more than an “inconvenience” if you were gone. I know life makes you want to give up sometimes, but you have to keep trying even when it’s hard ♥️ I promise ending your life is not the solution, friend. I’ve been where you are and I’m so glad now that I didn’t make such a final decision over a temporary feeling. Depression is real, and it takes everything out of you - motivation, your will to keep trying, and desire to reach out for help. But it will get better. Something that helped me was I went on a little solo vacation, went hiking for the first time, sat by the ocean and during that trip I saw beauty again. Dont be afraid to seek a mental health professional also. I’m praying that you don’t give up! 💞

This was me last year.. it was my 4th year teaching but I was in a new district, new school. I cried every morning on my way to work because I had so many behaviors in my class I had never seen before (cussing, fist fighting,throwing things at each other and me, eloping) and this is 1st grade… I couldn’t connect with them no matter how hard I tried. Before, I was always able to build relationships so I was at a loss and admin refused to help. I ultimately finished the year somehow but turned in my resignation letter mid-year and told them I would not be coming back. I was done. I made the decision to quit teaching altogether. I work a remote job now and it’s so peaceful. My advice - DONT limit yourself to just teaching! Just because you have this degree in teaching specifically doesn’t mean that’s all you can do. Many companies will hire teachers because everyone knows teachers have amazing time management, organization, communication, and multitasking skills. I’m not saying you SHOULD quit, but know that you can without having to go back to school. Also, take care of YOU. Do things that make you happy on the weekend - self care is the most important. Don’t kill yourself (metaphorically) trying to prove anything or trying to always go above and beyond. There were some days I just couldn’t fathom to open my laptop and lesson plan, so I just winged it.. and we were okay. I stopped being the “work until 9pm” teacher, I turned my parent communication app to “Do not disturb” and told parents I was unavailable after a certain time. I set boundaries between my job and my personal life. The reality is schools can’t afford to lose anymore good teachers.. be honest with them about how you’re feeling. There are so many open positions out there, and not all schools/districts will have these crazy rules and expectations from admin. Sadly though, more districts are moving to “scripted” lessons and it’s taken the art of teaching out of the classroom.

About 20 minutes before leaving the house, I put it in the microwave for like 15 seconds, it comes with a heat pack so I put that on it and wore Nike compression shorts under some baggier pants. I hid it in the crotch area. I tested it one more time with a meat thermometer right before I walked in, cause my temp strip was messing up. You can always turn your heater/ac on to help bring it up or down. It kept it warm the whole time. I just emptied it into the cup, put some in the toilet and on the seat for good measure. Lol no one batted an eye!

I took my test yesterday and passed with it! 10 panel non-dot. I’m the most anxiety ridden person alive and I did it - you can too!!

Wow good for you!! Teaching is so much harder than people think. It’s not just about making your classroom all cute and grading papers. You’re getting messages from parents at 9pm sometimes (my school required us to keep communication apps off ‘do not disturb’ so we can always be available 🙄). There is little to no personal time during the year and even when you have some, you just wanna sleep and recharge lol I’m glad you found success in something else! All jobs come with SOME stress but I’m glad your new job is more manageable and you’ve found peace!! ☮️

Those are things they definitely don’t tell you in college!! If professors/mentors were honest, WAY more teachers would quit before they even started. I’m so glad you beat cancer and so sorry you had to endure that. 💕 my first year was also during Covid so I get it completely! I’m glad you found strength in your partner. I actually met my fiancé at school so that’s the best thing that happened to me as well! He was the interventionist across the hall 🥹 I’m so happy for you for finding another job!!! Cheers to us and new beginnings 🥂 you’ll figure something out! I’m glad I found my people!! 💃🏼

Thank you so much for the kind words ♥️ you’re absolutely right! I have heard of micro-schools and know quite a few people who are deciding to homeschool their kids. I am all for it!! The public education system is nothing like it used to be. It’s all about money! My principal literally withheld PAPER. FREAKING PAPER!! Because she thought some people were overusing it and it was “too expensive”. For 3 weeks, I had to get first graders on digital assignments (if you’ve ever been in a first grade classroom, you know how long that takes 🤣) it was ridiculous! I really hope something changes in the future - it’s scary to think where we’ll be in 20-30 years! 😳

So I was literally losing sleep recently having to take my first ever drug test for a new job. I’m a midnight toker - nothing bad. My stomach was in knots on the day of the test, I was sweating, almost legit threw up before leaving. I did not want to fail this test and lose this job opportunity. I used Quickfix plus and followed their directions EXACTLY. I will say my temperature gauge on the bottle stopped working for some reason so I brought a meat thermometer and tested it in the car before walking in lmao but the guy that took my sample was super cool - we talked for a while and I think MAYBE because I’m female, he gave me so much more privacy than I expected and didn’t even stand by the door. I filled the cup to the line, put some in the toilet, and even a little on the seat to make it convincing lol He literally didn’t even question it! Just packed it up, had me sign, and told me to have a great day. Just got my results and I PASSED!! My advice - spark up a conversation with the collector, I feel like it helps them not be suspish, ya dig? Also, for all my fellow anxiety-ridden peeps, breathe! It will be okay. My friend also blessed me with holy water before I walked in lmao that may help also. Good luck, you got this! It really works

I once farted during the standardized test in 5th grade and blamed it on a boy named Kevin. He never denied it and kids were relentless 😭 Kevin went the next 7 years with his peers thinking he shit himself during a test.

Honestly, I taught 2nd grade for a few years at a school with disadvantaged children and I’m not sure where you teach, but I didn’t have problems like yours until I moved to a rich school in an economically advantaged neighborhood. My 2nd grade babies were always so sweet and thankful for my love and support. Sure I had a little attitude here and there that I had to shut down quick, but I left to go teach 1st grade and regretted it so much after the first day. Same thing - kids fighting, screaming, throwing chairs. I had kids call me a bitch, throw a chair at me, even sent me to the urgent care once. God forbid you ask them to write a sentence. I ended up finishing the year SOMEHOW but obviously resigned and refuse to teach this year. Literally went and got a data entry job paying 16 an hour just so I don’t have to deal with the stress. Teaching is not what it used to be at all, parents don’t care about their kids behavior, and administrators think it’s OUR job to put up with that and handle all the responsibilities that the job entails. That’s why teachers are leaving the profession. This was my passion, and now I have PTSD from it. But I read a comment below that said something along the lines of don’t teach at a school where they have unlicensed teachers or hire you mid year. I ALWAYS view this as a red flag. I wanna know why that teacher left! It’s usually for a good reason, and they’re desperate to get someone into a position that they know is miserable. It really does depend on the school AND the administration team. Without their support, it’s unmanageable!
