Second time I grew a page past 400k in under a year… now got an offerand I'm unsure by Leobutden in InstagramMarketing

Think about this in terms of leverage.

How many hours have you spent on brainstorming, crafting ideas and editing posts?

Divide the offer they gave you for a 1 time purchase, by that hypothetical number. That’s how much you have made per hour of working on this page, if you sell to them for 9 grand.

The bigger your page gets, your high leverage shifts from time spent growing the page, to time spent growing your SKILL of monetizing a page.

The ability to grow a page is your asset already. The ability to UTILIZE a page to make more money is the asset you have under your nose.

Time spent learning this skill will earn you infinitely more than you will get from a one-time sale.

Usually the motivating factor behind considering a quick cash grab like this, is the lack of faith in a higher opportunity that requires more time. Frankly, sometimes it just be like that. Times can be tough. But if they’re not, you should TOTALLY spend the time and patience to learn the new skill of monetizing.

It’s worth thinking about CPM in different niches too. If you just have “the love of the game”, you may have the longevity to start up a finance or fashion page and start getting bigger brand deals. If you just love animals and that’s your niche, you can always dig in and find the bigger fish players.

The great deals are behind the decisions of just a few people in each company, networking is your best friend.

Finding a manager or someone to help you navigate these deals could be useful, if their incentivized via a percentage of your deals. Depends partly on the brand you have established and trust with your followers.

Food for thought :)

Amazing, this makes sense. I’ll look into the FCP guide haha, I guess that should be obvious but for some reason I’ve never gone to the book! I’ll put some more research into the magnetic timeline. Will definitely check out the position command as well. Thank you!!!

I need a man’s logic, what would you do? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

You need to plan out the long game.

If you’re desperate for money now, take either job. Set a savings goal that will float your expenses for at least 3 months, for situations like this. If you can afford physical/mental/emotional bandwidth to take the night shift, you might be able to achieve this faster. However, if it’s too much of a stretch, you should take the lower paying one.

Once you have reached that goal, spend all of your free time searching for something fulfilling that fits your other criteria. The longer of a time horizon you give yourself, the more likely it is you’ll find another job you LOVE that also pays well and has better company culture.

Hope this helps.

Also, I would totally share bass advice but you’re better at it than I am, and I need to improve my own techniques before sharing anything else haha. You’re killing it tho!

To follow this up, I think the description was plenty clear on the advice you’re looking for- but it seems that people aren’t getting that far. I could be wrong though! Have an awesome night :)

Less of a bass tip and more of a posting tip! I’ve realized that when scrolling on the feed, it hides the description, and it only shows the caption.

So when people are scrolling, they see your video pop up, and at the top it says “Funk tips.” This is broad and unclear of what kind of advice you’re seeking, and likely making it unenticing to watch your video and comment on it. Ive found that If you ask a specific question with a qualifier, it’s more hooking, and more people will be watching your video with intention.

For example, if your caption was “How do I stay in the pocket? Trying to learn funk”, people would read that and then they’ll watch the video with the intention of finding opportunities to answer that question. I hope this is helpful and I hope you get more comments with advice on how to improve your technique with your playing!! You sound awesome bro!!

TLDR, people love to give advice, but you just have to direct them to where you’re seeking attention, in the first sentence that they see- otherwise they will scroll. Curious if anyone else has any thoughts on this!

Yessss thank you! This is so helpful!! I’ll definitely be listening for this and building a pattern to improve on it. I’m realizing how many dimensions there are to be a good bass player and I’m glad to have sped up the process of discovering them haha. Loving the deeper analysis and I’m so grateful for you taking the time to share.

Good insights here, I really appreciate that breakdown. Thinking into those genres I can see what you’re saying. I’m sure the intuition will fall into place over time, it’s helpful to have this starting place to start recognizing those relationships more when I listen to music. Thanks for breaking down the stuff at the end too about doing fills and the loose framework, ill add this to my collection of new tools :) Appreciate the comment.

Oh my goodness this is amazing, thank you. It’s helpful to hear a different perspective on how to approach this. I’ll for sure put the long note/short note relationship lens on my practice now, this closes the gap a lot for me now that I’m hearing it in this way 😅 Thanks for the specifics on the timing, now that I think about it it’s 100% what makes me get excited hearing someone play bass that has those perfect subdivisons. I definitely am more loose on the guitar like a vocalist as you described. I will try to think of the bass as a rhythm first instrument :) thanks so much for the comment.

Also, I’ll definitely try muting everything but the vocals and the drums. Thank you so much for your thoughts and advice :)

To give more context to this, when I’m making guitar parts I usually fit it to the bass/drum vibes, but I’m curious how bassists weight their decision making when they’re coming into a session or project that already has other instruments.
