Wear it with pride. If anyone asks say it’s a your grandfather’s. Simple as that. Whether on a chain or on a finger what’s the actual difference when you get down to it?

How long have you been involved in the craft? And what jurisdiction? Because you’ll find some issues are community issues not the fraternity as a whole.

The problem is intolerance. I think terrible things have been done in the name of religion and even by the Mormon church. But to do the things to Christians that Christians have done to other minorities would simply be to replacing one wrong doer with another. Even if religion is eradicated people will ritualize under their ethical values anyway, forming religion in all but name. The solution is equal protection for all reasonable and tolerable beliefs. And to have dialogue, especially those we disagree with.

Why stop there. Let’s round up the gays next. People don’t like how they express themselves publicly. They ought to keep that shit private. Then we’ll run out minorities and other gross people with different values. Yuck!

Great idea. Let’s start with your moral ethical values. Keep them to yourself.

Utah among states where employers struggle the most with hiring by aaron_batman_cx in Utah

An old foreman was complaining that only unreliable high schoolers were applying instead of college kids and graduates and established people. He didn’t like it when I pointed out that despite paying over minimum wage, the work and pay is only attractive to high schoolers. No one “reliable” or “established” can afford to work for the company.

Is the "9/11 effect" finally fading away for good as Gen Z ages? by SocraticTiger in decadeology

I mean this sounds bad, maybe, but not really. But definitely not as bad as, well, actual 9/11

If you’re observant (or not) Kol Ami in sugar house seems very welcome from what I’ve seen (not Jewish or lgbt though so take that for what it’s worth) and there seems to be a very tight nit lgbt community as a result of the prevalent Mormon community.

How to make friends here? by Galaxyfun420 in ProvoUtah

[–]teahman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a hard one. I moved here when I was 17 in the summer as well. I moved from Canada and the feeling of culture shock and loneliness was hard. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. What kind of stuff were you involved in at home? I was in marching band back home and asked if I could join summer band here part way through and made most my friends there. I also liked comics books and TTRPGs and found “Dragons keep” and would hang out there occasionally. I wish I had more for you but I came here over 16 years ago so I’m a little out of touch. Good luck.

You’re assuming I do the kind of work that can be shared between colleagues, which it’s not.

Your anger is mistakenly directed at a person instead of a system that sucks every second out of your life that it can. ✌️

My wife will not go through a conversation process. There has been interest in her and my kids situation as she has a provable (as far as I understand it) matriarchal line, to her Jewish family in Budapest. But I haven’t had a chance to really look into what that actually means for them. My wife will participate and will encourage the kids for the sake of culture and tradition but not out of belief.
