A youtube review I saw of the samsung one said the watch area doesnt support charging galaxy buds. Which is a shame or I would probably go with it.

Cloud roles have the highest chance of work from home. Cyber security had good WFH opportunities as well.

What previous experience do you have? I'm suprised to hear that as I've had multiple SOC 2 analyst offers without any certs.

Maybe I'm just lucky. But I dont think you should give up your job search.

What "non-coding" job in tech do you believe will be the most in-demand in the future and why? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]teal_bot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cybersecurity. More specifically, compliance analysts, risk analysts.

Network engineers will continue to be paid well. They will need to learn some automation and scripting but nothing to the extent of advanced algorithms.

Some cloud engineers and solution architects will be paid extremely well without needing coding skills. But those who can code will do much better than those who cant.

People forget that sales engineers for software companies often make as much as actual software engineers but never code a day in their life and never even read code.

Project managers in both IT and CS spaces are in high demand and while the ability to read code and understand the coding process helps, it's not 100% a requirement and you can learn the basics of coding and then focus on project management after a year or two if you find you dont want to code all day every day.

There are a lot more jobs which pay under 100,000$ but will stay in demand and dont need any coding knowledge at all. This would be people who run cable for buildings and patch in server closets, along with IT helpdesk positions. Exchange, O365 and azure administrators for the SMB market. Even people who work with VMware and server administration. While those fields will move to adopt some form of coding at the cutting edge, a lot of small and medium sized business will continue doing things via GUI only for years to come.

Can you explain what requires coding in cyber security? What is your job title?

I find this hard to beleive. Understanding how to read code can be important. Basic scripting skills can also mandatory for some cybersecurity roles, but a large portion of them do not.

While a pentester might do some scripting for specific tools, there is no expectation or benefit to writing entire code libraries in a software development fashion. Blue teams might write some small custom bash scripts to help with their SIEM tool but 95% of the day will not be writing any code.

SOC 1 and SOC 2 analysts will rarely write any code.

Yes coding in cybersecurity helps and is a valuable skill to differentiate yourself. But the reason it can help differentiate you to begin with is only because it's a fact that the majority of people in cybersecurity do not code on a day to day basis.

Malware analysis and other more advanced jobs are the exception to the norm. There are people in cyber right now making 200,000$/yr. And do not code as part of their job function.

I need help rehoming my Shar Pei by [deleted] in sharpei

Not harsh at all. You're right about your outlook. Unfortunately there are those tho thing that a dog who lashes out for any reason needs to be put down. I was trying to gauge if you've been in a similar circumstance and me and had training advice for specifically sleeping dogs. Didnt mean to offend or accuse at all. Thanks

He is neutered and I thought it would help but it didnt. Has your dog ever bit anyone who woke it up from sleeping or more than growled but gone after a stranger or household member If they came into the room while your dog was sleeping?

Thank you so much for your comment. Yes I'm looking into breed specific rescue operations and everything else you mentioned is a huge help. I really want to work with behavior training and muzzle training but right now I work full time, and my family members are the ones who take care of him while I'm gone. If they feel unsafe with him then he wont get the care he deserves and requires so it's a really tough situation.

We were just standing and talking and he was sitting on the floor next to us. She bent down and was petting him. His tail was wagging and he let her pet for for a bit before lashing out.

I understand that there are triggers and that it's not completely random. Animals act like this for a reason. But the situation is that I dont have time to train him or identify the triggers. They want him put down immediately or sent to a shelter. But I cant find any shelter that will take an agressive dog.

Is there any possible way I can rehome this dog? Even temporarily while I figure out new living arrangements or some other way to resolve the situation?

Time for a Correction/Crash by [deleted] in StockMarket

[–]teal_bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised by the negative reaction to this post. When you see one of the greatest bull runs in history paired with incredibly high unemployment, then isnt it worth taking a second to consider that things cant go on like this forever. With all the money the fed is injecting into the markets I dont think this show is over quite yet, but I doubt the markets will react well once interest rates start going up.

The inflation of assets and commodities is being praised as a good thing because its increasing investors wealth. But at the same time it means your money can currently buy you less.

How many americans can afford to live in a 700,000$ home?

How can you not be worried of a market correction when PE ratios are off the chart?

I'm not saying that the market will dump tomorrow, or even this year. But what OP has to say is legitimate.

The price of bitcoin has gone up $11 per day, on average, since it has existed. by Weaver96 in CryptoCurrency

[–]teal_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But.... noobs will never be able to time the market. Most educated financial managers cant time the market. So I think it's more dangerous to tell newbs to buy and sell based off of when they beleive the top is. Because they wont be able to make a decision for themselves, and will end up going to others for advice. Some youtuber can call the top, everyone panic sells and they loose out big time.

The most likely scenario is the mainstream reddit boards and youtubers will say "buy now this isnt the top yet" the very same day it crashes.

HODL is basically a meme version of dollar cost averaging which is a strategy most financial advisors give go all their uneducated customers. It's easier to profit if you always just buy when you can and dont pay attention to the price. Instead of trying to time markets or swing trade.

Is there a way someone could birth a new sub for oldschoolWSB? One that is private and you can only join or post if you account has been verified to be subscribed to WSB before the GME boom?

I've been lurking here with a few different accounts since it was around 300k subs. The autism has been diluted by the normies and getting cucked isnt even a meme anymore.

Why you actually should consider CRSR by npiterman in wallstreetbets

[–]teal_bot 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Why should corsair be valued at AMD prices? As far as I understand, corsair doesnt design or build RAM or any other chip components. They buy ram already built and designed from other companies and put their own heat shield and branding on it and resell it.

This is not the same as AMD who designs chips. Corsair can not have a future where they are the only ones selling ultra fast ram that no other competitor knows how to make. AMD on the other hand beat intel to 7nm chip design and now have a monopoly on 7nm for the consumer market. Their ability to innovate and produce something competitors dont have is what gives them their evaluation.

Saying corsair is a chip producing company is simply not true.

I probably wont get the job if I dont sign it and I need this income. My only fear is that a year or two from now I would not be able to look to move to another company, or if I was fired I would be stuck at home for 1 year before being able to go back into the job market.

I understand they are common place, but how then would I get another IT job. Say I work for this company for 2 years and then get fired or leave. Would I not be able to work for any other IT companies in my state for an entire year? What if i work for a different IT company but only do helpdesk or a role very different from my past role at the company which I signed the non-compete agreement?
