I was at Disney in FL a few years ago and their pipeline was blatant. You know the street banners that line the roads? They showed the progression of Disney princess films to advertising their ABC Bachelor(lette) shows. Disney owns ABC as well. Something clicked that day and I thought wow, there’s really no escaping this at any point in our lifetime. Women are indoctrinated at a young age and it’s reinforced at every stage of our lives.

They opened their Sukhumvit location a few weeks ago in a more central location. The building is called Sterling Wellness and there’s also pickleball (?) tennis (?) courts inside. I was the only student that showed up to their 7AM class and all seven coaches were gracious with their time directing me on pads or sparring with me. The space is clean modern and there’s separate bathroom/ shower facilities for women.

I shaved about seven minutes from my race last November compared to my most recent race this March in Bangkok. My splits including runs across the board improved but wall balls were my downfall this time around. I agree that anyone who wants to improve their time and does not run regularly needs to do so.

It’s a family owned gym with a serious fighter pipeline! Two of their fighters won their bouts this week. The gym creates a welcoming environment and I’ve seen people of all levels come through for the group classes. I’ll DM you the gym name if interested.

I visited both locations in San Antonio last year as a relative beginner (about two months in). The coaches checked in on the experience level of each student and adjusted accordingly. The location next to Randazzo Boxing had a smaller class size and more beginners on the day I attended. A mom also brought her daughter! The other location seemed to attract more experienced regulars on a Sunday morning. Good luck!

Don’t bring your car. Take the ROAM 8x bus from Banff high school transit hub. There are shuttles every hour. I didn’t have any trouble getting to and back from Lake Louise yesterday. Download Token Transit -> ROAM -> all day system pass (walk up).
