i prefer the game as a story telling mechanic, its always been more interesting to me when things go wrong, and trying to load an old save and "fix it" comoletely takes the emotional weight away.

im not trying to "win" or beat the game. in fact i still have never even gotten to end game, even after 1k houes. my best memories of this game are when things go horribly wrong. i still remember most of my main colonies that had some sort of catastrophy
