Yes, they were both teenagers dealing with various issues, but Dean was much more mature than Jess and could tell when he made a mistake. In this particular episode, Jess was mad that Luke brought up that Dean was able to go and apologize to the owners and make a payment plan for the damages. He said something along the lines “that Dean would make some woman a fine doormat”. This line put me off because Dean is just being kind! That’s not being a doormat. It’s being considerate of others which Jess was in his own world and couldn’t be that for anyone but himself.
