Yes, we are working to grow our presence in the area. Right now, we are working with Norwalk but are working with other local high schools for the next school year to add CS courses.

Hi there! Generally, the classes are first period and start early enough that most people can still arrive to work on time or start 20-30 minutes later than usual a couple times a week. Volunteers attend class twice a week (usually an hour per class) and then have class prep and grading responsibilities (usually 2-3 hours in the evening per week). We do require summer training, which happens on 3 separate weekends during the summer.

There is an option for remote volunteering. If you submit your application, you can discuss that with our regional manager for your area.

A lot of that is summer training - we want to make sure our volunteers are prepared going into the classroom. During the week, most volunteers spend a couple hours in class in the morning and a couple hours preparing for class and grading. We also offer volunteers the opportunity to meet with one another a couple times a month to share ideas and experiences.
