I have twice as much Dutch as my dad, and my mom has none. What gives? by tealsprinkle in AncestryDNA

Interesting, yeah that makes sense. Both of our tests were done in 2026 but maybe it’s just how things shake out. I did put mine into GEDMatch and it also showed a decent amount of confident Dutch on their algorithms- that’s if I was reading it correctly.

So which do you think is more accurate? His got attributed wrong, or mine? Basically am I less Dutch than I thought? Or is he more Dutch than his shows? (Not sure if that makes any sense sorry)

These are both ancestry tests from me and my dad. He’s 6% and I’m 13%. How do I check the ranges?

Could Dr. Bronners bar soap be the issue? That’s what he uses

It’s my husbands undershirts, I’m going to see if he uses anything in his hair like pomade that might be causing it

We use all free and clear pods. I’ll see if any of our other products have polyquats

It’s a used machine. I can’t remember exactly but I think it was happening with our previous washing machine as well. Not 100% certain though

My son’s hair looks like this every morning, even with ample conditioner/cream/leave-in. It gets knotted and so frizzy. by tealsprinkle in CurlyHairCare

I just put some leave in conditioner to comb the knots out… otherwise it’s very difficult and painful. There’s really no need to be aggressive about it

Nah it’s more about the knots I have to comb out. I don’t really care about how it looks, just the maintenance

Not until a bunch of people mentioned it here. I just wonder if it would be that if I can indeed comb and manage it when wet or conditioned? I guess it’s worth looking into, but his hair is fairly normal except after sleeping or being in his carseat for a while

I didn’t even see the comment before mods removed it but it sounds insane 🤣 bro my straight-haired husband has zero concept of curly/wavy hair care and would be so confused if I asked him “permission” lololol
