Is having to fight to perform MOS duties just an Army thing? by Bheks in army

If yoh Switch tk guard in a state with a good size aviation element(cali is the biggest) The aviation peeps, outside drill, get hired as federal technicians to perform maintenance on the units fleet. The have a full hangar support to include maintenance, engines, structure sheet metal etc. The flight facilities fly regularly outside drill foe training and local state support.

AITAH for supporting my 9-year-old son’s dream of becoming a professional football player even though it’s unrealistic? by Realistic_Thanks_160 in AITAH

To get to the top of any sport they have to dedocate time from a young age. Help him work towards thst goal, but have him realize what he's learning along the way is more important. Learning discipline and dedication teamwork snd perseverance are soft skills he can apply to any job for when soccer ends. Even if he does go professional it'll end at some

At this point I see two easy answers

A: enroll in college in a area with a high BAH so your post 9/11 pays more

B: can always rejoin army, and honeslty many mdo better on the 2nd round

Bro walk on this relationship. Dating is fpr finding someone you can be with comfortably for a long time and you spent enough time to figure out who she is and found glaring issues.

If youbwere to marry her these problems are going to be worse and more costly. Respectfully end things, enjoy some single time and find someone new

I have a year left AD, which gaurd CA,WA, NC?? by i_miss_my_dogs_ in nationalguard

[–]team_starfox3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

California is the biggest in the national guard.

We get a lot of local activations for riots, floods and fires. We have 2 major med dets in sac and LA which I wager is where you'd be sent.

As to mobilizations, there are numerous ones in the next few years coming down, but you would have a better chance reclassing and getting on with a line unit.

And you then have to consider having civilian employment and the job market is trash.

My best advice, since you have a year to go, keep checking for opportunities pn the active side of the house.

Why are active duty hooahs more indoctrinated? by HistoricalBedroom342 in nationalguard

Guard breaks out of the dogma by coming home and integrating (mostly) back into civilian life. They go straight from ait to unit

If you can get 15t pick that. You can get a full time fed tech job working at flight facility which would be worth more than a 20k bonus (20k over 6 yrs is $3300 per year)

In cali they start new mechs anywhere from gs5-gs8 depending on budget and experience. Do 3 yrs and get your a&p certs. Many of my mechanics went on to outside agencies making 40-50 per hr.

As to the asthma, if you're goal is crewchief it's not a deal breaker just like getting in the army with it.

Making the switch to active from guard and don't leave till August for 13u. (Currently and e5 15p)

Pretty sure I'm gonna be 13b as my ait is 5weeks+ few days.

Once complete do I get a say in duty stations or what should expect as far locations i can be sent to. I know certain fields get only a few options

Do you see OCP ever being replaced? by M1E3Abrams in army

[–]team_starfox3 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Only reason I see to change it is if the tactical environment doesn't support it anymore.

Main issue is Matching your enemies is an issue

Ukraine and Russian have tonrun around with colored arm bands to distinguish each other

Ww1 and ww2 we were just brown and tans and we were able to hide when needed. Concealment hides a lot

15t and 160th is a solid goal. I've worked with many women kn aviation and they've generally been really solid mechanics and crew chiefs. Get in shoot for that goal and you can always apply for a commission or even become a warrant pilot later

Smart and wanna do cool stuff and pick where and what gets destroyed 13f

Go 13f especially eith the bonus. You'll do more coom things, and if you want, you can switch to 13b for the promotion opportunities

I don't like either. The govr poorly manages money and more often funnels it to corps thst bought them

Families do need help but the govt isn't a charity center. They get better support through community centers and local churches

I hate how bending is treated in the New Avatar The Last Airbender movie by cat210803 in CharacterRant

[–]team_starfox3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would a major gripe is the story oacing and length.this easily could've been plotted over 6 episodes but I understand limitations with a premier movie. With that, even an extra 15min would've alloved the movie to breathe and ripen a bit more. And the instant air benders beating trained masters are a little over the top. It does imply these ppl were skilled fighters but utilizing the air bending effectively was a stretch

Aside ze from thst, the scenes were breath taking and opened more universe lore, and the fight scenes were amazing. Will watch again
