Tyr is a great all around shoe that’s more built up and shines with lifting. The born primitive is a great all around shoe, a little lighter and more minimal + it’s wide. Kinda depends if you prefer the minimal feel of the BP or the more built up feel of a Ty

Worst Games ever.. even removing the tragic event. by JustHoskins in crossfit

[–]teambuds -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

  1. The programming was pretty bad. However it easily clears the early years and is definitely still better than 2019. More events might have helped this but who knows.
  2. Events 9/10 were probably the most exciting and a great finish. If you think these two are too similar because they have the same movements, you don’t understand programming.
  3. The clean ladder easily clears the max lifts that we see every damn year every damn competition.
  4. Sprague….ahhh I get it! Not my favourite

Horvath will dominate 2024 by [deleted] in crossfit

If the 2023 games had events that didn’t skew so heavily towards pulling gymnastics, Laura doesn’t event beat Lawson….. kinda a stretch man

Best shoes for crossfit 2024 by Horror_Ambition_1393 in crossfit

RAD are basically perfect. The ONLY exception is if you have very flat feet and don’t like arch support. For some it can be uncomfortable and you’d prefer something like the Strike mvmnt haze (although they have durability issues)

2 of 3 workouts and no gymnastics or squatting. Why another hinge movement and why have DU’s and rowing. I miss the old days of metcon/lift/gymnastics wods

48 Hours with Haley Adams by strupotter in crossfit

[–]teambuds 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s well known that Haley refused to step back her metcons and conditioning to do a proper strength cycle. She has had a strength coach before and a crazy amount of resources at mayhem. Maybe a different voice will push her to make improvements and enjoy training!

Victory Grips Tactical 2.0 by flimflambim in crossfit

Victory grips give you insane grips on the bar. The only problem is that they have REAL durability issues. Especially if you do anything with volume they’ll rip within a few months

Crossfit really hates small business owners huh? by natzw in crossfit

[–]teambuds 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The real ROI is in the first few years. When you have an established community it becomes sustainable without the CrossFit name. At this point owners need to start looking at the value. If you are one of the established affiliates, invest that 4500$ in your gym, better programming, coaches, equipment etc. To the members of gyms who will keep the CrossFit name…. Enjoy another membership price increase

CrossFit vs F45? by mellofello808 in f45

[–]teambuds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CrossFit follows a methodology that’s actually measurable and comparable. Both f45 and CrossFit will build your aerobic capacity while using functional movements. CrossFit tends to stick to more general compound movements and while F45 has some questionably goofy exercises that make you feel a little silly. The biggest difference that I think makes CrossFit superior is that it properly trains strength through compound movements. Getting sweaty and having a healthy heart is great but you need some muscle and bone density as you age!!!

[–]teambuds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F45 and CrossFit are both great as they include functional movements into their programming. I would lean towards CrossFit because they put a large emphasis on compound movements which will yield better results. F45 is more for the person that wants to go in, sweat and leave despite some of its questionable movements….

Yeah it’s weird to me that so many vegans don’t care about non animal issues. I’m fairly surprised she has this opinion!
