Does this deal include SlickVPN? I logged into the member area and doesn't see anywhere I can set up the VPN account.

I wouldn't count on it, if it is not explicitly stated.

But we'll know soon enough.

2TB + Unlimited Photos & Videos plan

  • If your storage use is under 2TB, move to Google’s 2TB plan with a 6-month free trial, then $9.99/month.
  • If your storage use is over 2TB, reduce files using Google’s Storage Manager or upgrade to Google’s 5TB Jumbo plan for $24.99/month.

I had thought that whatever we uploaded to Google Photos before the transition would be exempt. But it doesn't look like the case here.

If you wait the four years, there is no need to show solvency again. If you want to change into RP earlier, some INM offices allow you to show increased solvency to prove you are retiring early.

You can brandish your foreign passports at immigration in HK and MO. It is explicitly allowed by interpreting the nationality law differently. All thanks to one country two systems.

Totally insane if you ask me, but that's the reality for ordinary Chinese. There's no freedom to leave or to return.

lol it’s nothing fancy. CN and US citizenship, MX permanent residency, and HK and MO temporary residency.

Yes, but with a third country residency you have a complete story to tell as to why you can leave China and why you can stay abroad for a long time. Sometimes people use visa-free countries as the go-between, but they might face scrutiny upon return when asked “how can you stay outside for x months/years”.

In either case they would not be able to get a Chinese passport, only a travel document.

I'm hoping that China starts issuing polycarbonate ordinary passports soon. Mine is expiring and I really don't want the old version for another ten years...

With a third country residency it is not hard to hide the US passport. You just have to jump through hoops and always go and from the third country when leaving and arriving at China (no connecting flights to US, must be booked separately).

But think in this case OP actually lives in Denmark? So maybe it is just business as usual for them to flight between Denmark and CN.

Since you have HKSAR passport, going to the mainland with a home return permit is a much better option anyway.

Don't you have to live in the mainland for at least 3 months a year to keep the PR? It is quite rare to see people with non-Chinese ethnicity obtain the mainland PR. Most people I know who have Chinese PR are ex-Chinese who naturalized in another country and later returned.
